Things to do in Copenhagen to get well fed

My favorite part of Copenhagen is all of it, by bike! A much easier place to bike in Amsterdam imo--the bike laneage is superb and you don't have as much navigating-around-pedestrians.

My life goal is to live in Copenhagen when it is not too cold and Tokyo when it is not too hot.

five months pass...

What's Copenhagen likely to be like in mid-November? (Around the 18th, so possibly before Xmas events kick in).

Cold, chilly, rainy. But beautiful and cosy.

Where would you recommend as a good area to stay in? Probably doing AirBnB. Got flights booked but not accommodation.

Hm, I don't know. Depends on what you want to do. But the city is kinda small, can really get anywhere on a bike. I'd say Vesterbro, Nørrebro or Frederiksberg, but some prefer to be more central or at Christianshavn.

How about Amager Vest? Found a cheap place there near a metro station that looks ok.

What we want to do - not much really, see a few museums/galleries, preferably involving minimal walking. It's our first time in Denmark so I think anything and everything will be interesting tbh.

I have heard the city is beautiful in winter - is there a good place to get a good view of the city?

Amager Vest is very suburban in feel IIRC, but very close (by transit/bike) to the center of things. I could imagine that being a fine base unless you want to stay someplace that has street life right outside your door etc.

Amager Vest is a very newly build area, and there really isn't much life. But yeah, it's build around the metro, which means you can be at the center of the city in 15 min, close to a lot of museums. So yeah, that's a fine area to stay. There aren't that many places with views, there aren't that many high buildings. But Christianskirken on Christianshavn is one of the best.

one year passes...

We ended up staying near Amagerbro station which is probably the place I was talking about upthread. It was quite suburban as you say but easy to get around from, and we liked the building we stayed in. I did make it to the top of Christianskirken!

Anyway we liked it there enough to go again this August for my birthday. This time we are staying in Christianshavn near Christiania. I'm keeping an eye on the listings for the Loppen venue but they have nothing up for early August yet. Are there any decent record shops in that area? Last time there was a stall in the Christiania market hall which had some bootleggy looking reissues of some cool albums (I think some Throbbing Gristle stuff) but not much else.

... uh, when are you going to be there, I might be going there in August too. Haven't decided yet.

Oh, Amagerbro, I thought you meant somewhere completely different! Christianshavn and Amagerbro is quite close to each other, through don't tell people who live at Christianshavn :) You'll be so close to the rest of town that it should be possible to go to pretty much every record shop. I don't know if there's anything particularly at Christianshavn. There's a couple ok cheap Indian restaurants around there.
