Was there any reference to Chilton at all, this week? I'm kind of assuming he made it, but it really seemed like he was killed.

good to see jeremy davies is still cutting his own hair
there was a lot of nietzsche in this episode—early on, and in alanna's interview w/ the social worker (sociopaths 'keep us on our toes' is basically the explanation he floats for the value of murderous immorality to the human race in 'the gay science'), and in davies' sympathy for the horse

Aw we didn't get to see Will Graham kill the man in the prehistoric bear amour.

Just read on imdb that David Tennant auditioned for Lecter and was deemed excellent, but it didn't work out for some reason. Think I prefer it this way.

i've enjoyed how ever since will told hannibal that he was finally interesting to him (as opposed to before when will had to fake it), everything hannibal has said in phony person-suit mode has been insufferably pseud-y

Oh man, Margot totally slept with Will so she could get pregnant and bear a legitimate male heir so she can kill her brother – that's pretty goddamn twisted. I love this show.

so will told freddie he would explain things but then we never heard the explanation? this show can be confusing sometimes

I think there's still the outside chance Will killed wildlife man in self-defense, stashed his organs to later serve up to Hannibal, and Freddie is hidden away somewhere. It's Will cat fishing Hannibal.

wouldn't it be awesome if they just played the Red Dragon story as a killer of the week and not something of major consequence?

I love that Mads is showing that Hannibal trusts Will more and more by looking like he's about to start cracking up laughing in nearly every scene.
x-post: I think that "who's bonin' who" double sex scene was intended to work on, oh, about 17 levels.

Oh yeah. I think one of the reasons this show works so well is that it doesn't assume that it's smarter than its audience, but assumes that its audience is really really smart and looking for fun.

I really hope he isn't captured this season. Free Hannibal is a lot more interesting than caged Hannibal.

pitt's verger feels like several batman villains rolled into one+an impression of gary oldman's verger in the 'hannibal' movie. at first i was disappointed at how clownish he was but verger is supposed to be a clown, really. he's not a mastermind, he's just really rich and evil. hannibal destroys him because he finds him gauche and boring. i watched 'hannibal' the movie again and verger's revenge plot seemed almost overtly comical, especially given how easily hannibal is able to escape it. like it's about as silly as the crotch-laser in 'goldfinger' or w/e.
