Full disclosure: my wife works for Fossil. However, I've not been a huge fan of their bags - they're too heavy and too stodgy. The Mercer line changes that.

I LOVE those Mission Workshop bags. They look great and when you see them in person the construction is nuts. So well made.

I have one of their backpacks and wish that I'd bought the more expensive model with the arkiv system

I've come to the frightening realisation that I need a man bag - to fit a wallet, glasses, hand sanitizer and a handful of masks and not really much more. Any ideas?

In 1981 I went to an Army surplus goods store and bought a shoulder bag. iirc, it had been originally used by some army somewhere for carrying a gas mask. It was utter simplicity: a rectangular cotton canvas bag with a strap that resembled a heavy twill tape. You could make one in an hour if you are handy at sewing.

I hate the swing back to rucksacks - they make me look and feel like a schoolboy and they feel so much less secure because you can't see behind your own back.
