I've shown The Dead fairly often in class when I've taught the story.

Robert Rietty was hired to re-voice Robert Shaw's dialogue in the opening scene, as it was decided to redo that scene in Russian with English subtitles instead of having the Russians speak broken English. As a consequence, for continuity, all of Shaw's dialogue throughout the film was re-voiced by Rietty.

Crazy.

I realize that I've seen Rooftops. I was in a job then that involved occasional advance screenings, so I went out one morning or afternoon and sat through Wise's attempt to bring West Side Story into the here and now of 1989. Don't remember anything except that it was dreadful. (I'm looking at the IMDB page, and Luis Guzman's down in the lower reaches of the credits.)
