When I say I'm not a huge fan, I just mean because the styles tend to be so youthful! Sometimes I want to look like a sophisticated almost-40-year-old who has options, is all. Although I just saw this one: well played, modcloth:

swimsuits are the only thing that i don't wear in black! maybe its cause i wear black every day, but when i got to the beach im always in like, a hot pink bikini

I like it! You have to change things up. I can't imagine actually wearing a black swimsuit because you're in the blazing sun, for pete's sake, but I like how they look.

I have a dream of being the kind of woman who drives to the beach (or is driven) and wears a big straw hat and nice sandals and carries a tote bag and/or cool drink, instead of the person who biked there and is sweaty and sticky from sunblock and road dust and has gross sneakers on and might have heatstroke.
