Shane Embury from Napalm Death in a Cardiacs shirt. He never seemed to be without it for nearly every photo-shoot from this period.

good spot. that's a still from the interview for bbc2's snub-tv iirc

eardrum buzz aldrin (NickB), Tuesday, 11 March 2014 19:49 (five years ago) link

Is it not from Arena: Thrashed To Death? Bill and Shane laugh at Day Of The Dead later, and Bill draws a mind map from Venom to Napalm Death on a napkin.

It's from the Arena Heavy Metal doc. Loved that. Mick Harris: "You can't play Motorhead at 100mph? Course ye can!"

Re Napalm Death/Cardiacs t-shirt, Napalm Death just released a charity download Cardiacs cover (To Go Off And Things)

Just noise and screaming and no musical value at all. (Colonel Poo), Wednesday, 9 April 2014 16:34 (five years ago) link

Of course, Corin was wearing it because 'Marshall' is also her son's name.

yeah, not actually so surprised Napalm Death would be into Cardiacs -- a lot of "extreme" musicians love em

I'm not sure who that is in the middle, but Ian McKaye and Ryan Adams is a strong candidate for Photos taken of famous people together that you would never have expected to be together but make you happy all the same.

pplains, Monday, 13 April 2015 20:32 (four years ago) link

Except for the part about being happy about it or anything.

pplains, Monday, 13 April 2015 20:33 (four years ago) link

Hope Ryan gets that job at Hot Topic.

two famous middle-aged American musicians with punk rock backgrounds meeting each other doesn't strike me as hugely surprising

maybe if it was a photo of Ryan doing a load of coke off a glass table while Ian looked on. or indeed vice versa

And you're speaking of Ian and Keith, right? The two guys with punk rock backgrounds.

Well, a Motorhead-inspired shirt at any rate...

http://www.genesissurfshop.com/shop/images/OGT-tee-motorshed-1.jpg

From the page selling the damn thing: "Old Guys Rule tee shirt Motorshed place of spades in black. Great gift idea for an old time motorhead fan who now spends more time in the shed than rocking out to motorhead!"

Probably needs further investigation but I spotted it on the video: Kanye at Glastonbury.

The bleach patch on his left shoulder has NIKKI SIXX MICK MARS TOMMY LEE VINCE NEIL written in it in marker. Only Nikki Sixx is really clear in the picture.

the dude's shirt seems to be some sort of bespoke thing, the lettering is behind the scissors on the design?

Timbaland is the latest hip-hop/R&B type to be seen sporting a punk rock jacket, his being leather and adorned with Misfits, Dead Kennedys, Subhumans, Crass and the like logos.

The Metal injection website reports on it with some of the snide commentary that we don't use here because we liek that sort of thing.

The website has a link to the interview.
