per the BP annual, Mets' Anthony Recker has the old-fashioned tool of "gorgeous."

full Recker BP entry, lol

In a less enlightened time, we might have noted that five of Recker's seven home runs in 2014 gave the Mets the lead. In a less enlightened time, we might have said that of course Recker is a great clubhouse presence -- he tweets about his favorite restaurants on the road! In a less enlightened time, we might have observed Recker's great baseball face, which would be code for, "He's built like a tank and he's really, really, almost insanely good-looking." In reality, Recker did little to earn himself a major-league job in 2015, but he'll be around, which makes one wonder how enlightened we really are. The man is a gorgeous, ruggedly handsome personification of the progress BP and our ilk have yet to make. He is gorgeous, though.

good points but the hair on Harper is a dealbreaker

"As I started heading to more ballgames, I found random male strangers perfectly willing to point out that there was no way I could really know the game, and that any player whose name was on a jersey I might have been wearing was only someone I thought was hot," says K, a 37-year-old Blue Jays fan. "I tried my best to try to change their minds about it, but it was generally met with verbal pats on the head."

It's definitely true that being hot for players has long been a no-no for "serious" female fans, one that's ingrained in us from the age when crushes first start to blossom. (Male fans as well, obviously, but that's another essay entirely.) Mabel, another 37-year-old Jays fan, remembers feeling judged for her desires as soon as she was old enough to have them. "The timing of when people started wondering why I liked sports roughly coincides with young adulthood," she says. "Like, it's cute and OK for a 13-year-old to adore John Olerud. But a 17-year-old doing the same is wrong, as she's a woman, or close to."

Daniel Norris will undergo a procedure to relieve pressure in his left groin, manager Ron Gardenhire said. Will likely be transferred to 60-day DL at some point.
