Yep. And that track is also the B-side to French Kiss.

His hits don't have anything to do with the fact that the track I posted above is pretty outsider.

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Friday, 21 February 2014 00:22 (ten years ago) link

What does "outsider" mean then? Is it some sort of genre definition?

Tuomas, Friday, 21 February 2014 11:04 (ten years ago) link

Ask Ben UFO. Outsider house is the new Hipster house.

LIES then put out this; http://www.discogs.com/Various-Music-For-Shut-Ins/release/5177297

House music for people to stay at home and get nerdy over old synths rather than to go to clubs wearing sunglasses?

mmmm, Friday, 21 February 2014 11:40 (ten years ago) link

Is Westbam outsider house then? "Mr. Peanut" from 1992 sounds kinda similar to that Lil' Louis track, IMO:

I don't know, it sounds normal to me. outsider house is basically a fancy term for leftfield/weird/psychedelic/lo-fi house. stuff from LIES, sex tags mania, etc. people hate the term but it's useful if you need a term to describe this kinda sound.

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Saturday, 22 February 2014 15:27 (ten years ago) link

I dunno, it's a pretty dubious term to me

Fiddler on a hot tin roof (ed.b), Saturday, 22 February 2014 15:37 (ten years ago) link

That said, are we really debating "outsider house" on ILM right now?

To return to the topic, here are some tunes that I've been digging:
