how sorry a track record does a celebrity have to have before their coming out is page 36 material?

The SNL sketch wasn't bad though... except no ending, cuz it's SNL.

(I mean, it's been a great career move for a trivia answer like George Takei)

Her arm movements in this video are cracking me up

Actually, that one has a pretty sweet ending.

Johnny Fever, Saturday, 15 February 2014 23:12 (ten years ago) link

but.. that would mean Dr. Morbius was disparaging something he hadn't seen!

Dude had a plenty decent career in acting, voice acting and public service before coming out all of nine years ago. Do you ever just shut the fuck up?

that's a shame. there nothing positive to be said about siding with morbs on this one. nothing.

i dare say she's talented, she's probably in movies i would never see or care about and will continue to be in them. but the tenderness/intensity/nervousness of her speech here is more important than anything (possibly) she'll do professionally. i felt a lot of love for her and was moved by it.

as a straight non-entity who's seen one movie in the theatre since inception, morbs' comment seemed pretty catty

probably a fitting welcome to the sisterhood tho i guess

jaymc, Sunday, 16 February 2014 07:00 (ten years ago) link

I hate to interrupt jaymc, but I think it's fine she came out. She also seems quite talented but just hasn't made any good films that I've seen*, it happens these days.

It'd be nice if just ANY celebrity telling us that they is a same-sexer wasn't news meant to THRILL us all (esp gullible young people), but then it would be a world where a 76-year-old man (NO MATTER HOW ADMIRABLE AND TALENTED) wouldn't be famous solely for saying "Warp factor five" over and over 45+ years ago.

I do think the SNL sketch should have ended with her using a strap-on to take Samberg.

mook, "sisterhood"? really?

* I have seen Inception and that Woody Allen Rome thing.

Jaymc wins the internet today.
