HANNIBAL on NBC seems amazing and therefore deserves it's own thread!

there are so many places where instead of doing the usual somewhat unaffected, or normally 'emoting' reaction shot in a conversation, hannibal will just be like STILL until it's time to respond, esp. when he's talking to will and will is caught up in some thing he's trying to get out, but when will is with the other investigators often HE'LL be still, but without being affectless, instead like he's just trying to bear continuing to exist until it comes his turn to force out a remark to communicate one of his insights about the case

also, caroline dhavernas, <3 <3 <3, gonna be so bummed when they end up killing her off

Hving her back on a good series as opposed to shlocky Canadian movies has been great. I hope she gets more to do this season.

why does everyone think they know what's going to happen. like people on this thread thought hannibal was going to be the killer, but it turned out it was will.

I don't know! I find the whole thing preposterous and Will and Abigail to be annoying. Also it's suffering from LOST disease where it seems like people are making the least logical choices just to advance the plot. Also it's gross! The mushroom people! Gah.

the angel ppl one was cool for visuals, had a bit of a stephen king feel to it

the angel one was so horrifying i had the same "how did the network allow this" reaction.

i got confused by the scheduling and thought the angel one was the one they pulled because 0_O but apparently it was the kids-killing-kids one for reasons of timeliness

The monster of the week thing is what bugs me. Not that I need a story arc - I just have trouble accepting that there are so many horrific serial killers. And that Will just closes his eyes and uses the laser windshield wiper in his brain and knows exactly what happened.* And I hate how they all do Forensic Science in a room together like it's an Olympics of the Mind practice meet but with hideously butchered corpses.

*I've been watching a lot of OG Law & Order lately and it's ruining magic.

There definitely is unbelievably many serial-killers in this show, but that's part of the world. It's like, the most depressing series ever, it makes me cry and gives me anxiety issues. And yet I love it.

Can one of the mega-fans of this show provide me with a brief precis of the state of play as of the end of season one? I seem to have have forgotten everything except the mushroom people, the tower of corpses, and Eddie Izzard.

I sort of remember that Will's been arrested for the murders that Hannibal probably did, and he himself thinks he did them right? And everyone else thinks he did, but maybe not really? And then there's the daughter of that guy he killed knocking around who maybe killed some people too? It's a complicated show.

SPOILERS OBVIOUSLY

Nah, he spends most of the last few episodes thinking he's responsible, but by the very end he knows what's up. Abigail's dead, though; Hannibal feeds her to his psychiatrist.

It took about 3 or 4 eps but once it hits it's stride there's really no other show like on it network tv.
