These are the oldest, rarest and most expensive pressings. In addition, they are also the poorest sounding and usually in the worst condition.

lol

Caution - The reader is now going to enter a bizarre world of fantasy, paranoia, ego, greed and wishful thinking: The Fantasy, Egotistical (and Greedy) World of Decca Record Collectors and Dealers

huh interesting what he has to say about the mercury golden imports which i almost always completely ignore and don't play when i get them. will have to listen to some i guess.

while there are definitely labels that have a high percentage of great sound, he is correct in saying that it depends on the record. not the pressing, but the actual individual record that you have in your hands. (though it could be said of any kinda record i guess. i don't CALL records hot stampers but all records are not created equal.)

i can play 10 DGG records from the same era and in the same near mint condition and maybe get one truly superior record.

What are some of the best classical guitar records or artists to look for? Segovia is obvious but I don't know enough about the "scene" and the highlights in it.
