thought that too but then I thought they could have had it ready just in case, not that hard to have two different tunes on deck

yeah, it looked like the lady was saying something to him along the lines of "What the hell were you thinking springing this on me out of nowhere?"

yeah the acting is pretty good if fake

guys, from the video description itself on youtube "I staged a fake marriage proposal at a Rockets game that pretty much everyone bought as real. When it was first posted by a fan on YouTube, it got over 11 million views." The account belongs to the guy who plays the big dumb bear. So yeah, it's clearly 100% fake. Both participants probably work for Houston's marketing department.

as someone who has spent some time working with game ops crew members, even if it was a zillion years ago, i can go ahead and tell you anytime a mascot hits someone in the face with a pie or seemingly gets into some kind of trouble with a "fan" the fan is always always always a team employee or family member of a team employee.

the name of the bear is Clutch, and he is not dumb

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-dont-lie/alt-rock-legend-stephen-malkmus-made-song-brandon-225159237--nba.html
This tune is inspired by the NBA and a specific player, Brandon Jennings. He’s a prima donna point guard. He went to Italy young, he didn’t go to college, he just went straight to European league and then he came back and he’s a real hot dog gunner. He had a relationship with a specific coach, his name is Scott Skiles, he’s a very bossy, my-way-or-the-highway-type coach. They butted horns. Skiles was also an ex-NBA player, and he was saying, ‘I’ve been there, I know what you’ve been doing, and I can tell you,’ and Jennings was like, ‘You’re not my mother, I’ve got a contract and I don’t need you to tell me what to do. I’m my own man.’

it kinda looks like maybe he thought someone was running to that spot? I mean that's the only explanation I can come up with, even charitably.
