It will possibly suck getting a big suitcase up the subway station stairs, but if you want to lie down somewhere warm it may be worth it.

i am going to some airports tomorrow *despair*

I have to fly through Chicago with a one-hour changeover tomorrow. There's a direct flight which skips weather, that they won't let me change to without paying $900.

Make friends with some chilxors asap is my advice.

the problem is that both airports are way too far from most chilxors to make a one-hour changeover worth it.

airports are extremely relaxing environments, mostly cuz there's computerized voices often. they are my favorite environments, besides train terminals (and trains)

Now crashing in Long Island City with friend of friend I fancied 18 years ago (alas, not any more). Contact has been made off-board with in orbit and plans to crash at hers if/when my flight tomorrow is cancelled as well... (in orbit: no big case; I packed hand luggage for this contingency. JFK can look after the case till they can get me on a flight).

no, the actual problem would be ice potentially grounding my connecting flight, and me not getting to London in time to meet my RTW ticket again, two days later

charlotte us airways terminal wasn't terrible for a layover. at least there was a carolina bbq place.

uh the emergency lights are flashing and "a reported emergency situation is being investigated" so I am to "stand by for further instructions"

friend of mine had her London -> Ottawa flight delayed by 12 hours today, we very nearly got to say hello at the terminal

my plane is incoming (American) but a United one to Chicago was cancelled. Kind of assuming mine will still be able to return to o'hare once it gets here, but kind of slow going so far
