I went to a v fancy restaurant last night and they played "Fools Gold" by Stone Roses

Also i heard william onyeabor's fantastic man twice in a 24 hour period. Once at luskus, the tasting menu restaurant in the back of torst, and once (the next morning) at a secondhand store in bushwick.

• 'Merry Christmas Everyone' by Shakin' Stevens, in Gregg's, while purchasing a pink cylinder tasting vaguely of spices wrapped in a cardboard tube. Very fitting.
• 'Top Of The World' performed by a violinist busker on the high street, who was Portsmouth Sinfonia level bad.

Not heard while shopping, but the someone on the local radio station clearly has a sense of gallows humour because the day after Trump won they played D:Ream's 'Things Can Only Get Better' (Labour used it as their campaign song in the 1997 UK General Election).

Wings, 'Mull of Kintyre'. It was the UK Christmas #1 in 1977, but I've never heard it played in a shopping centre at all, particularly not as a Christmas song.
