yeah I'm digging this new one. Bit more muted than Fin but still just as lush

oh wow it had totally missed my radar. really good on first listen, looking forward to spending proper time w/ it.

same, sounding very good in the heat
― a serious and fascinating fartist (Simon H.), Wednesday, 7 June 2017 18:04 (six years ago) link
I'm a bit nonplussed by it myself to be honest. It lacks the euphoria and sunshine of Talabot's solo work and the personality of Boman and all the Studio Barnhus axis.
― boxedjoy, Wednesday, 7 June 2017 21:52 (six years ago) link
i mean i admit i was pretty high when it was finally opening itself up to me but yeah there's def not much in the way of direct sunlight
― ToddBonzalez (BradNelson), Wednesday, 7 June 2017 22:01 (six years ago) link
yeah, this passed me by. need to check it. i listened to FIN an absolutely obscene amount.
― circa1916, Wednesday, 7 June 2017 22:02 (six years ago) link
I still think his peak was the pre-Fin singles and remixes.

Haven't heard this yet but "Six Milion Ways" sounds exactly up my alley
― Unchanging Window (Ross), Wednesday, 7 June 2017 22:41 (six years ago) link
Samsa is my jam and far and away the best thing on this. I appreciate what they're going for here, but sometimes the melodic ideas run their course pretty quick for me and it feels weird. For the most part this is a killer summer record though and is very good as a companion to movement.
― Unchanging Window (Ross), Thursday, 6 July 2017 01:35 (six years ago) link
*feels weird cuz this is a deep house record and not sure why I care about whether a melody has changed after 7 minutes
― Unchanging Window (Ross), Thursday, 6 July 2017 01:36 (six years ago) link
holy shit this album is G R E A T

really like Joakim's contribution to that new Permanent Vacation compilation this is from, it's just a remake of his remix of Antena

Definitely into checking out the Shy Layers live set. Haven't heard of the other two but thanks for the tips.
― brotherlovesdub, Wednesday, 18 July 2018 19:33 (five years ago) link
Jex Opolis is great. Check out last year's Ravines album.
And Eddie Ruscha has released lots of great albums as Secret Circuit and was also half of Laughing Light Of Plenty with Thomas Bullock
