lots of teevee ads in the UK for the 360 version, have seen no teevee presence for the PS3.

i am totally getting this game, and my girl is hell of excited about it too. stevietonychick is my gamertag, for when we are all up and at 'em (some time next week, i'm guessing).

The big "pre-orders sold out!" thing is something that seems to happen with every new GTA. And yet come street date there are always HUNDREDS of copies around, I've never had trouble picking one up on day one (although to be fair I do work in games retail innit).

If nothing else, there are plenty of places who aren't even taking preorders. Are Tesco/Sainsburys/Asda etc doing them? Because they'll all have buckets of stock.

this game gets 10/10 for the "heat" ref alone (in one of the trailers there is a vignette of a bank robbery and the robbers have AK47s and holdalls slung across their backs)

I was glad to finally hear somebody actually say the multiplayer was really fun (and actually worth the cost of the game alone).

There's some cool stuff on the soundtrack, but I'm super bummed about the "hardcore punk" station. I was looking forward to it when I heard the Bad Brains were gonna be featured, instead it's just a bunch of meathead NYHC bullshit. I know it's supposed to be NYC, but COME ON.

It's actually really entertaining to listen to, especially with the knucklehead reactionary meatball DJ. Uh, I've heard it is, anyway.

Played a bit of this round at my friend's bit last night and the driving was ultra-hard and the combat system seemed to have actually gotten worse!

Though of course I reserve judgment until I've played it for some extended period of time and it does look wonderful and crashing in to a low wall and going flying through your windscreen is fun.

My copy has shipped from Amazon (for 360). Bring it on!

my brother drove past gamestop today, and they were throwing out some big gta4 cardboard promo boxes. y'know, like they put on display in the window. so he took one. it looks nice next to our games.

wtf. just received a 'your GTA IV has been despatched' e-mail from tesco despite having cancelled the order and still having the money in my account... perhaps I'll get it for free?!

ugh - store called & now claims they're not getting the game till tomorrow morning. I guess somebody cracked down somewhere cause I also checked the place around here that ALWAYS breaks street dates (for an extra ten bucks) and no go :(
