YES YOU CAN

"Can I Kick It?" also, not just because it was fabulous on record but because it was the greatest moment of all time at Lollapalooza in 1994

some perfunctory stuff on here, and a load of clunky Phife rhymes, but man the highs are unfuckwithable. between Can I Kick It, Bonita Applebum and After Hours for me.

more noticeable now than twenty years ago but then I listen and go, "Piss off, it's fuckin' Tribe."

I have often wondered if Tribe had ever been to El Segundo at the time of recording that tune, or if they just picked it at random off a map

i dunno, i don't think of this as having much filler, and so many all-time jams on this: "footprints", "after hours", "can i kick it", "description of a fool", "mr muhammad"

although i admit i never really got into "el segundo"

is Ham 'N' Eggs filler? because that's on steady rotation in Eulerland

for me it will probably be down to "footprints" / "after hours" / "can i kick it"

Yeah footprints when the snare kicks in is great.

always loved Rhythm for the way it uses the synth sample from the 12" remix of Pull Up To The Bumper.

I recently bought this on vinyl, having long cherished my CD copy, and was dismayed that Description Of A Fool wasn't on there. But I probs won't be picking that. Maybe After Hours or Lucien, but its all good.

The remix album that came out shortly after is ace for how it captures that brief moment when hip-hop was all about the reggae and the ragga.

Or Footprints, that track is killer. But probs After Hours, for the bit with all the frogs.

Missed the poll, love this album so much. Bought it in D.C., then moved to Minneapolis where kids were rapping "Can I Kick It" in the back of the bus.

Listened to this a lot during my flights out West for a project I was working on in El Segundo.
