Dude is clearly only there so that they can play 4 on 4 or w/e without the number being uneven

Nobody on either team expects him to do anything except stand there and maybe grab a rebound if the ball comes to him

(With the expectation that he will immediately pass the ball to his good, capable teammates when he gets it)
