a drunk homeless dude followed me around for about two minutes tonight pointing at my feet and screaming "YELLOWBOOTSYELLOWBOOTSMYNIGGAYELLOWBOOTSYELLOWBOOOOOOOOOOOTS"

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 21 April 2005 02:26 (eighteen years ago) link

Mm shiny.

Here's a job for the bored: find me pics of either pale blue-green or cream shoes, since I still haven't found any for my wedding. I prefer round toes and a small heel. Ta!

They do them in a fresh green as well. No heel but very very comfortable...

More balllerinas, but is it the right shade of blue-green?

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 21 April 2005 07:35 (eighteen years ago) link

Thanks Liz! I have seen both of those in the flesh I think. Normally I love that style, but I've decided that my skirt's length makes my calves look fat unless I have at least a BIT of heel. But I don't want to be taller than Matt. Sigh.

Archel (Archel), Thursday, 21 April 2005 07:36 (eighteen years ago) link

Have you thought about sexy but low foot-exposing sandals? The calf issue would be lessened, I'd have thought.

Example:

Could work! (I do have some surprisingly nice back-up flat shoes I got for £8 in Primark, if all else fails...)

Archel (Archel), Thursday, 21 April 2005 07:42 (eighteen years ago) link

If you don't mind foot exposure, how about these?

This pair of Clarks is my first step away from old-man/comfort shoes in a long time. Mine look different than above -- the band down the side is a darker brown than the rest of the shoe.

Hurting (Hurting), Tuesday, 17 May 2005 04:54 (eighteen years ago) link

Those are very nice shoes indeed.

I still do not have wedding shoes. Matt has TWO pairs of wedding shoes. Grr.

Oh, and I saw this book on Saturday and thought of james and Pinkpanther:

:)

Haha Archel, we went to the launch party for that book. Some friends of ours are responsible for it! :-)

Haha, but of course :)

I bought the one on the right (and only $39!):

Mädchen (Madchen), Monday, 17 October 2005 11:01 (eighteen years ago) link

whoah, they're great. i really like the brown suede actually. still guess that's a bit impractical for winter. my new sneakers are still hurting me, incidentally.

sfxxxx, Monday, 17 October 2005 11:19 (eighteen years ago) link

got these from a new and shockingly good trainer store which has opened in Dublin.

Ronan, if it's so shockingly good why did you get the only ugly ones? hahaahahaha Sorry, I had to make a bad joke. They look great.

nathalie, a bum like you (stevie nixed), Monday, 17 October 2005 11:43 (eighteen years ago) link

I wanted to escape the hegemony of white, uncomfortable adidas

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 17 October 2005 11:45 (eighteen years ago) link

has anyone seen a pair of those black adidas micropacer reissues? they are so so so hot, however they're also about four times what I'd pay for sneakers.

They are nice and soft and felt-y feeling.

I got a pair of these recently and dig 'em. But they're made of mesh which is sort of a problem in my extremely cold climate.

Roxymuzak, Mrs. Carbohydrate (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 03:43 (eighteen years ago) link

"New shoes" in the voice of LJ is a common phrase in my household.

And I'm getting these (already have red and blue ones just like them). The person who designed them has my eternal love.

won't the sparkles come off? i had red sparkly sunglasses and every time i took them off i had sparkles on my face!

oh ilx my lionheart (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 18 November 2005 05:55 (eighteen years ago) link

SURRENDER DOROTHY

oh ilx my lionheart (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 18 November 2005 05:56 (eighteen years ago) link

dorothy, i'm sure, would've been a lot more confident wearing those instead.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 18 November 2005 05:58 (eighteen years ago) link

stupid picture. here they are sans link. they come in black patent leather too but that seems kinda boring in comparison.

yeah, i dont know how the sparkles would stay on. i guess theyre not the running down dirty alleys type shoes. very festive though, no?

sunny successor (he hates my guts, we had a fight) (katharine), Friday, 18 November 2005 06:05 (eighteen years ago) link

i have shiny black vinyl shoes that look exactly like those, but sans glitter.

oh ilx my lionheart (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 18 November 2005 06:07 (eighteen years ago) link

say, what's the difference between vinyl and patent leather?

oh ilx my lionheart (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 18 November 2005 06:10 (eighteen years ago) link

the leather?

s1ocki (slutsky), Friday, 18 November 2005 06:16 (eighteen years ago) link

i'm not even entirely sure what "patent" leather is!

oh ilx my lionheart (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 18 November 2005 06:17 (eighteen years ago) link

i think it's just leather with some kind of high gloss lacquer on it isn't it? reminds me of going to mass when i was a little tacker and wearing frilly socks.

gem (trisk), Friday, 18 November 2005 06:32 (eighteen years ago) link

Vinyl is a synthetic material.

Patent just means glossy finish. But of course patent leather could mean it's real/fake leather, you'd have to ask.

I think the shoes are VERY kah-ute.

Nathalie (stevie nixed), Friday, 18 November 2005 09:11 (eighteen years ago) link

yeah, i thought it just meant glossy. its mostly used in kids shoes. those lucky little bastards get all the good stuff. anyway, here's the pl version:

OMG shoe dilemma! I want some New Balances, but they're all so nice!!

Please vote for any of the ones below. The solid colour ones are all suede.

wish there were more good shoes I could find

RJG (RJG), Monday, 12 December 2005 17:06 (eighteen years ago) link

I need new shoes, but isn't it a drag to buy new shoes during winter? There will be no honeymoon period, they'll get all slushy and salty as soon as I walk out there door.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 12 December 2005 17:17 (eighteen years ago) link

definitely the blue. runners up: green then purple/tan

sunny successor (katharine), Monday, 12 December 2005 17:24 (eighteen years ago) link

1 vote for the penultimate pair.

the others are too purple/pink and the blue is too boring.

ah. xpost

StanM (StanM), Monday, 12 December 2005 17:25 (eighteen years ago) link

Personally, I like the greeny/brown ones that are second from the right. (though it's hard to tell the colour on this laptop screen.) or the blue ones, but I would say that because I love blue suede shoes. (I'm wearing a pair myself right now!)
