what if you typically answer the door with your eyes closed?
Then by your own logic the answer is "your mouth" unless you are arguing that you open the door with your eyes closed without asking "who is it?"

I would accept door or eyes. Eyes is the stronger answer. The only reason for the detail about being woken up at 3 am is to point to eyes. Without that detail, it would be door.
