not immediately, no, but in the time it took for you to discover (somehow) that your parents were at the door, I'd assume they'd have opened? maybe people wake up differently, but for me, my eyes are open nanoseconds after I wake up.

"You are awake, therefore your eyes are already open" is an assumption that is not borne out by the statement of the riddle. The instigating event is "someone wakes you up" and there is no clarification/specification re: being downstairs or at the door before the question "what's the first thing you open?" needs to be answered. The answer is "your eyes".

The only defensible argument for "the door" is if you sleep with your eyes open

it doesn't matter, you only need to acknowledge that "wake up" does not necessarily imply "eyes open" to render the whole thing a load of bollocks

I would accept door or eyes. Eyes is the stronger answer. The only reason for the detail about being woken up at 3 am is to point to eyes. Without that detail, it would be door.
