This photo was taken 18 years ago, he might have got rid of the beard by now. Also Saville probably not breaking the law.

Grim Gordon Brown has put his foot down and said that Sutcliffe will never be released.

Great! We can ignore all expert opinions, stop hiring doctors and professionals and allow the tabloids to dictate Government policy. The same tabloids who pay 13-year-old criminals, put them on their front pages and encourage others to do the same.

After chatting to Ronnie, Big Frank spotted the Yorkshire Ripper leaning back on a window ledge.

Damn, Broadmoor was one long party back in the 90s.

Why do all the posters on The Sun HYS think that Sutcliffe has never stood trial? Very odd.

I've gotta rep for the Ripper keeping his trademark hair and beard all these years, instead of shaving and getting a bit of an easier life maybe.

Beard hides scars from when he was attacked in Parkhurst.

On the other hand, I don't think these allegations are much of a shock to anyone are they? I mean it *is* shocking that these things are said to have happened how and where they did, but all the same, I don't think anyone would underestimate the man's creepiness.

I was a bit surprised at all this because I'd heard that necrophilia rumour for so long - a bit jarring to put him into a different (& more real, hurtful) category of foulness.

saw sadowitz in a pub in ealing once, rehearsing his tour, and it was one of the funniest things i’ve seen (partly because it definitely wasn’t for a lot of the people there).

then i went to see pretty much exactly the same show at the royal festival hall (bit weird) and it felt offensive and flat.

Fizzles, Wednesday, 9 February 2022 19:29 (two years ago) link

possibly worth noting i generally loathe comedy and esp stand up comics (numerous notable exceptions aside)

Fizzles, Wednesday, 9 February 2022 19:31 (two years ago) link

god how pompous. but i just don’t like the whole stand up comedy thing. every fibre of me resists violently.

Fizzles, Wednesday, 9 February 2022 19:32 (two years ago) link

agree. there's just something cringe about the whole setup. an audience pays to have someone be funny for them. no wonder so many stand-up comics are assholes. i'm not sure why i don't feel this way about theater. the older i get the more my definition of humor turns to spontaneous riffing among friends.

OTM. Jerry is a magician though! I mean, literally a magician.

Bastards of Fish (Tom D.), Wednesday, 9 February 2022 20:05 (two years ago) link

You'll like this you cunt, not a lot, but you'll like it! tbf he was a much better magician than Paul Daniels and he's often made me laugh than any comedians do.
