My post was the most optimistic one on this thread and that was predicting he'd only average 3 minutes per game as the very best case imaginable. The question isn't if he'll contribute meaningful minutes. We all know he's cooked. He knows it, too. This is all about a kind of redemption, proving to the world he is willing to do whatever it takes to play. Yeah, it's sad, but he needs this to happen.

seems like a really nice dude. I dont begrudge him for trying. nice of the heat to let him do it on their dime, too. haha

sucks that its all caused by his legs being different lengths cause of a botched surgery in high school

just thinking abt ades comment and its understandable that teams would want to take the center over the wing even tho durant was p obvs a generational talent, i mean it was the wrong decision but its understandable, but then just thinking like the blazers gave oden a check up before they drafted him, they knew one of his legs was wildly shorter than the other which is really well known to cause all sorts of injury up and down the body, and they still drafted him, that is insane

preseason def does not count and i will tell you why, everyone involved in greg getting that one min playing time admitted that he wasnt nearly game ready and it was just for fun, ie it wasnt real playing time cause it wouldnt have happened in a real game, also it doesnt count cause it wasnt a real game, might as well give him credit for scrimmages or practicing free throws

So far, he's played 2 minutes in the first half. 1-1 for 2 points and 1 rebound, so his per 36 is looking awesome!

i thought of this thread when he was lumbering around on the court, picking up a foul on an overexcited block and jackson and van gundy were arguing about if he was ever a good #1 pick
felt like the definition of garbage time but hey, he's wearing the hat now

being roughly 7 feet tall and instantly recognizable to millions of people, and having a reputation as the sport's biggest washout, is not going to be emotionally simple to deal with, even with 30M dollars to ease the pain. as for physically assaulting a woman, that is obviously a much different issue and much less forgivable.

true. as I said far upthread, he was willing to do massive amounts of surgery and rehab to be able to play. his body just broke down way too soon. but even being the object of pity is definitely poisonous to one's mental health.

yeah i mean ppl can be all fd up in the most privileged of situations, his while not perfect isnt so bad all things considered imho, which isnt to say hes undeserving of sympathy just that his outward circumstance doesnt look too shabby to me
