ciderpress, Sunday, 22 February 2009 20:50 (fifteen years ago) link

digital clocks can be stimulating.

class act, thanks bro (tehresa), Sunday, 22 February 2009 20:53 (fifteen years ago) link

xxp

Asia? noway. I don't even own a wok (big or small), tho I know how to use one for, like, stir fry <(^.^)>

blimey (unregistered), Sunday, 22 February 2009 20:59 (fifteen years ago) link

what is your favorite thing to stir and/or fry?

class act, thanks bro (tehresa), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:00 (fifteen years ago) link

i was just wondering which small world you lived in

я рилли (harbl), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:01 (fifteen years ago) link

hoisin beef with water chestnuts and green onions and mixed veggies is one of the most awesome things to stir/fry in my small world of New England, imo, afaik

blimey (unregistered), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:07 (fifteen years ago) link

my brother lives in new england. do you know him? he is very tall.

я рилли (harbl), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:08 (fifteen years ago) link

i don't really like new england iirc

я рилли (harbl), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:09 (fifteen years ago) link

i like woks though, i need one

я рилли (harbl), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:11 (fifteen years ago) link

also do you wear one of those smocks when you cook like that tall guy with a blue smock is wearing

я рилли (harbl), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:11 (fifteen years ago) link

Is he over 6 feet tall and male? I probably know him. I hope he likes New England, even if you don't.

blimey (unregistered), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:11 (fifteen years ago) link

Nah, I never wear a smock, and I sometimes get curry stains on my sweatshirts when I cook. I need a smock.

blimey (unregistered), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:12 (fifteen years ago) link

i have a wok but i always forget to use it and use a differnt pan instead. d'oh!

class act, thanks bro (tehresa), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:13 (fifteen years ago) link

(sometimes = once a couple weeks ago. it sucked)

blimey (unregistered), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:13 (fifteen years ago) link

he is like 6.5 feet tall and male. i don't know how he feels about new england. he hasn't lived many places, he's in college. he doesn't know how to use a wok either :(

я рилли (harbl), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:13 (fifteen years ago) link

sucks about the curry stains man

я рилли (harbl), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:14 (fifteen years ago) link

tru

If you learn how to use a wok in college, it ruins the experience of ordering cheap takeout thai food all the time. I wouldn't recommend it.

blimey (unregistered), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:17 (fifteen years ago) link

fortunately i am not in college and takeout thai here is expensive and mediocre so i never order it.

class act, thanks bro (tehresa), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:18 (fifteen years ago) link

aww, my condolences (abt the food part, not the not-in-college part)

blimey (unregistered), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:20 (fifteen years ago) link

i am truely sorry for your lots

я рилли (harbl), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:21 (fifteen years ago) link

thankig u.

class act, thanks bro (tehresa), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:22 (fifteen years ago) link

have you guys ever gotten delivery from a tall man with a big box?

class act, thanks bro (tehresa), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:22 (fifteen years ago) link

follow up: if yes, how did you feel about it?
alternate follow up: if no, would you like to?

class act, thanks bro (tehresa), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:23 (fifteen years ago) link

i would like that a lot, yes

я рилли (harbl), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:28 (fifteen years ago) link

what do you imagine would be in the box? if you could have your wish.

class act, thanks bro (tehresa), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:29 (fifteen years ago) link

probably like a box of love or just air, he's probably using the box as a pretext to come see me right?

я рилли (harbl), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:29 (fifteen years ago) link

what if he was just the delivery guy, though?

class act, thanks bro (tehresa), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:30 (fifteen years ago) link

a box of money

я рилли (harbl), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:31 (fifteen years ago) link

excellent choice!

I feel ever so slightly miffed when I meet a lady taller than I.

I feel small for feeling this way.

*but not TOO high five*

(mine must be HIGHER)

mom tossed in kimchee (quincie), Sunday, 29 March 2015 21:59 (nine years ago) link

I've met both of you quinces and harbl but I won't opine on who is taller ;-)

, Sunday, 29 March 2015 22:01 (nine years ago) link

q is taller iirc

computer champion (harbl), Sunday, 29 March 2015 22:02 (nine years ago) link

though the other day a man who is the same height as me asked if i was 6'1" lol

computer champion (harbl), Sunday, 29 March 2015 22:03 (nine years ago) link

I've shrunk. Degenerative disk. Clocking in just over 5'10'' these days, when I could once claim a solid 5'11''

mom tossed in kimchee (quincie), Sunday, 29 March 2015 22:05 (nine years ago) link

I also feel shorter in general because I used to wear heels a lot at lolcorporatewhore job, now I'm a social worker and basically wear nun shoes.

mom tossed in kimchee (quincie), Sunday, 29 March 2015 22:06 (nine years ago) link

The worst thing about being tall is having to take a shower in a hotel. They are all designed for people that are 5' 8".

calstars, Monday, 30 March 2015 00:33 (nine years ago) link

i'm 6'8" and wouldn't mind having some of those cards

ciderpress, Monday, 30 March 2015 00:41 (nine years ago) link

I have a friend who's like 6'9" (very skinny type so he looks even taller) and we've had some conversations about that. for a long while he had many complexes and didn't feel comfortable with himself.
but at some point, around his 30s, he got OK with it and even began to have a kind of superiority complex on some aspects.
I remember feeling bad for him many times because the one thing everybody would talk about with him at parties, dinners etc was his height... must be so annoying...
On the other hand, sometimes I think it must be so great to be much taller than most people. when you're standing in a crowded metro, for instance, and you're fine and able to breath above !
still, as a much shorter person, sometimes I wonder how people who are taller or bigger manage with planes seats etc. I find them so small and uncomfortable even for my size...

Was visiting my parents this weekend and realized that the sink in their bathroom is actually set into the wall below my crotch.

In my own house, all of the bathroom mirrors are set up for my wife and son to see themselves, but I have to hunch over to catch a glimpse.

Me too! And I hate that I feel that way but I'm used to being the tall one. It's not even miffed so much as surprised and OK a little miffed. My best friend is almost 5'11" and I feel like a shrimp around her. It's weird with heels because I pretty much always wear flats and if I do have a heel on people always say something. I'd wear heels more often but they hurt my feet!

Once while at my last job I met a man who I'd been working with over email for some time. He sought me out to introduce himself and the first thing he said to me was, "You're tall!" It was so strange because I am sort of but I'm not THAT tall. That said, he was pretty short.

Benson and the Jets (ENBB), Monday, 30 March 2015 12:04 (nine years ago) link

i was talking to one of my jailed clients sitting down and when i got up to leave he said, "you're tall?" in like a surprised way that was cute
