Spurs 3-0 7/1
Defoe 2 or more goals 5/2

Weekend accumulators occasionally seem more stressful than they're worth.

Had:

Standard Liege to win against Kortrijk 2/5
Fenerbahce to beat Sivasspor 8/13
St Gallen to beat Luzern 5/4
Basel to beat Young Boys 8/11

and just needed Zulte-Waregem to draw with Anderlecht for a 30/1 win.

After two red cards for Anderlecht and one for ZW, Waregem scored an injury time winner to make it 4-3.

However, i also had:

Legia Warszawa to beat Craicovia 8/11
Terek Grozny and Anzhi to draw 5/2
Zenit to beat Lokomotiv 8/11
Spartak to beat Tomsk 2/9
Slovan Bratislava to beat Vion Zlate Moravce 1/3

just needing Lech Poznan to beat Zawisza Bydgoszcz at 4/7 for a 27/1 win, which they were doing comfortably until some moron got himself sent off and Lech were pegged back to 3-2. They held on though.

Also had:

Ehime v Kataller Toyama - draw
Montedio Yamagata to beat Mito Hollyhock
Yokohama to beat Thespa Kusatsu

for a 13/1 bonus.

Went for five home wins at the weekend and got none correct - two draws and three aways wins, two of those with ten men vs eleven. Couldn't pick my nose.

WE HAVE PUKKI, WHO THE FUCK DO YOU HAVE? (onimo), Monday, 2 September 2013 13:40 (ten years ago) link

I had two results right out of a seven game acca, and went for a fourfold both-teams-to-score which mustered up three goals between the eight of them.

I fucking hate betting.

Hit the bar tonight with this (had two trebles on, one with the English games which won, one which hit the bar with the CL games, decided to double them up for a sixfold, and really fucking hate Real Sociedad right now as had them on a both-teams-to-score treble as well, and looked from what I read that they were the better team so one fucking goal for three separate coupons including this belter would have been nice, eh?)

Bolton v Derby (Both Teams to Score) 8/11 Won
Leicester v Blackburn (Both Teams to Score) 4/5 Won
Huddersfield v Charlton (Both Teams to Score) 8/11 Won
Over 2.5 Bayern Munich v CSKA Moscow 1/2 Won
Over 2.5 Galatasaray v Real Madri 3/5 Won
Over 2.5 Real Sociedad v Shakhtar Donetsk 1/1 Lost

ailsa, Tuesday, 17 September 2013 23:13 (ten years ago) link

Have calculated this out now as potential £16.50 back of £1.50 across the three coupons they burst. This isn't the 50p betting thread for nothing.

ailsa, Tuesday, 17 September 2013 23:26 (ten years ago) link

Had Liverpool / Swansea to draw and Roma / Dinamo Moscow to win at 12/1 yesterday, put some of the winnings on an enhanced treble of Madrid and both Manchester clubs to win at 4/1. If I wasn't such a low-stakes gambler I'd be rolling in it this week.

4 fold knackered by Forest. There was a time when by default I would never have prefered Forest Odds on at home rather than Millwall Odds against at home. Need to stop looking at the league table after 7 games.

Damo Suzuki's Parrot, Tuesday, 17 September 2013 23:44 (ten years ago) link

Five fold knackered by Dundee United :-(

Celtic @ 1/3
Inverness CT @ 1/1
Dundee Utd @ 6/5
Motherwell @ 7/10
Annan Athletic @ 11/10

Had a few bob on that Annan match as a single as well, Queen's Park are utterly rank, and got Samaras at just over evens for a hattrick after his second went in. Free money!

ailsa, Saturday, 28 September 2013 16:29 (ten years ago) link

I started with Man City to win and it went downhill from there. Fucking disaster of a coupon.

The fact I went for a draw in a match that ended up 5-0 at half time gives an indication of how my day has been.

Usual let down by one dodgy away selection scenario for me, annoying that a header cleared off the line by a Cobblers defender has denied me 750 quid.

Real Madrid just removed all the free money I made off Samaras and Annan :-(

I can't even get a decent treble, fuck me I feel greedy when I do a 5-fold!

Damo Suzuki's Parrot, Sunday, 1 December 2013 00:21 (ten years ago) link

My big treble today was Huddersfield 2/1, Blackburn 13/10 and Exeter 6/4. I thought Exeter odds against at home against a shite side must be a gift but then you look at the L2 table and there are a few points between the top 10.

Damo Suzuki's Parrot, Sunday, 1 December 2013 00:40 (ten years ago) link

Man U have replaced old favourites Arsenal in my "teams that always fuck up my coupon" list.

My new betting strategy from next weekend is to use the Ladrokes Result Rush coupon - it's a combination of traditional 1-2-X and Goal Rush - betting on a result and with both teams to score. A double usually comes in better than 10/1.

You just have to find shite teams who somehow always score or good teams who somehow always concede. Easy, eh?

whilsting away the day (onimo), Monday, 2 December 2013 11:38 (ten years ago) link

Celtic are usually ok for that one :-(

I've been doing better recently with e/w trixies on first goal scorer. Usually pick Zlatan, Stevie May and one of Negredo or Suarez or Rooney or Lukaku depending on who they're playing (odds always way too short now on my original third choice of Sergio Aguero and Zlatan appears to be going the same way).

Of course I changed it up this week, and picked Lee McCulloch who proceeded to miss the penalty I knew Sevco would be awarded in a cup game. Decided to go big on Virgil van Dijk rather than any Celtic players who would actually score, and added Alexis Sanchez in the weekend Barcelona go to shite.

Took advantage of bet365's Champions League offer in style last night- place a bet pre-match and get a risk-free in-play bet. Put over 0.5 first half goals and decided to wait and see whether that won before deciding what to do in-play (thought I might have to recoup my loss). Goal duly scored so decided to go for a high odds one with my free bet - nothing ventured, nothing gained - so banged it on Sergio Ramos to score any time at 11/1. Nice wee balance going into the World Cup now :-)

Igor Vetokele's equaliser in the second minute of injury time for Charlton at Huddersfield sparked a remarkable £24,243.69 pay-out for one 50p Football punter.

Do I have this right?

Most seats at 2015 General Election

Labour best odds 4/5 (William Hill)
Tories 11/8 (Sportingbet)

Assuming no ridiculous UKIP swing...
to win £1000 I'd have to put either £555 on Labour or £421 on Tories. So if I do both I win £24. Which sounds shit for a £976 bet - but 2.4% tax free is better than any ISA earns in a year.

Do I lose if it's a tie?

Guinness on your moustache (onimo), Thursday, 2 October 2014 15:56 (nine years ago) link

You have your sums right, but as you surmise you'd effectively be putting £976 against the election being a tie at very short odds.

Besides, there are much easier ways to make risk-free profits from the bookies. You could make more than £24 every day for months if you have £976 you don't need straight away.

Eyeball Kicks, Thursday, 2 October 2014 16:19 (nine years ago) link

how so?

C21H23NO5 (nakhchivan), Thursday, 2 October 2014 16:43 (nine years ago) link

'Months' is bullshit, actually. Maybe up to two months if you did it every day. Matched betting - matching free bets you get at bookies with lay bets you put on at Betfair. There's at least a grand of free money available across the various bookies, though it can be a bit of a chore. I just do it when I'm going on holiday or something and need an extra couple of hundred.

Today I clicked on this icon at ladbrokes that said if you get four out of a five-fold accumulator staked you get a refund on your bet. This is my bet and these fucking tossers haven't refunded shit.

How do you claim this free bet? I have zero credit on my account and it was fucking guileless Swansea that caused all this shit. I mean it is only 3.40 but it hasn't appeared as free bet credit either.
