unregistered is that you? you don't look very tall and your world does not look small wtf

я рилли (harbl), Sunday, 22 February 2009 16:28 (fifteen years ago) link

i think the large clock affects your perception of tall.

unregistered, you look v v familiar.

class act, thanks bro (tehresa), Sunday, 22 February 2009 16:44 (fifteen years ago) link

Not meee! It's some random flickr dude who answers to the search terms "clock tourist." If Clock Tourist feels dwarfed or humbled by the size of the clock, then he doesn't show it. He exudes a quite confidence -- "I am tall, I have toured bigger clocks than this, everything is relative." When he gets home, he'll feel taller and prouder for marking off one more clock on his checklist, the way some guys feel more manly after notching their bedposts.

Is he familiar because he looks a bit like a gentler, turn-of-the-millennium Henry Rollins?

blimey (unregistered), Sunday, 22 February 2009 19:28 (fifteen years ago) link

he really does look familiar to me too but i think there are millions of guys who look like him. i wonder why he's using a cane though, at his age. he looks about average height. it's good that he doesn't let his averageness bother him.

я рилли (harbl), Sunday, 22 February 2009 19:37 (fifteen years ago) link

i think he looks like matt dc + someone else.
perhaps he had a clock injury that made it painful to walk.

class act, thanks bro (tehresa), Sunday, 22 February 2009 19:38 (fifteen years ago) link

Ah, so it's an umbrella, apparently. I still say he's at least 5'11", with or without an umbrella to prop himself up. Smartly-dressed 30-something dudes with square jaws and receding hairlines are pretty much all you ever see in certain upscale urban areas, so I can def understand why he reminds you of someone(s).

blimey (unregistered), Sunday, 22 February 2009 19:52 (fifteen years ago) link

are receding hairlines really common in upscale urban areas!? anyway i say you are not tall unless you are above 6'1". he is an average man in an average world

я рилли (harbl), Sunday, 22 February 2009 19:58 (fifteen years ago) link

and he is not a tall man with a large clock

я рилли (harbl), Sunday, 22 February 2009 19:58 (fifteen years ago) link

i feel cheated.

class act, thanks bro (tehresa), Sunday, 22 February 2009 19:59 (fifteen years ago) link

i hope you are sorry unregistered.

class act, thanks bro (tehresa), Sunday, 22 February 2009 20:00 (fifteen years ago) link

perhaps my anger is unfair. you may also have been duped by this picture of misrepresented proportions. i am sorry.

class act, thanks bro (tehresa), Sunday, 22 February 2009 20:06 (fifteen years ago) link

in most countries the average male height is around 5'8" or 5'9"

max, Sunday, 22 February 2009 20:08 (fifteen years ago) link

thank you max

я рилли (harbl), Sunday, 22 February 2009 20:08 (fifteen years ago) link

I'm just as much of a dupe as you are, and I beg your forgiveness. Tall men with large clocks, are they as rare in this day and age as quality felt hats and old-school chivalry? I wouldn't know a real one if I saw it. Well, Tehresa, I'm afraid we were both born a few generations too late.

blimey (unregistered), Sunday, 22 February 2009 20:11 (fifteen years ago) link

youre welcome я рилли (harbl)

class act, thanks bro (tehresa), Sunday, 22 February 2009 20:11 (fifteen years ago) link

this is true. I feel better about myself now for facing the facts. I feel better about the world.

tall men with large woks?

blimey (unregistered), Sunday, 22 February 2009 20:15 (fifteen years ago) link

unregistered and i are coming to terms with our feelings of being deceived by a man purported to be tall, with a large clock, that is really just kind of average, without cane, and doesn't have a large clock at all.

class act, thanks bro (tehresa), Sunday, 22 February 2009 20:15 (fifteen years ago) link

depends if he knows how to use it!

ciderpress, Sunday, 22 February 2009 20:50 (fifteen years ago) link

digital clocks can be stimulating.

class act, thanks bro (tehresa), Sunday, 22 February 2009 20:53 (fifteen years ago) link

Asia? noway. I don't even own a wok (big or small), tho I know how to use one for, like, stir fry <(^.^)>

blimey (unregistered), Sunday, 22 February 2009 20:59 (fifteen years ago) link

what is your favorite thing to stir and/or fry?

class act, thanks bro (tehresa), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:00 (fifteen years ago) link

i was just wondering which small world you lived in

я рилли (harbl), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:01 (fifteen years ago) link

hoisin beef with water chestnuts and green onions and mixed veggies is one of the most awesome things to stir/fry in my small world of New England, imo, afaik

blimey (unregistered), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:07 (fifteen years ago) link

my brother lives in new england. do you know him? he is very tall.

я рилли (harbl), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:08 (fifteen years ago) link

i don't really like new england iirc

я рилли (harbl), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:09 (fifteen years ago) link

i like woks though, i need one

я рилли (harbl), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:11 (fifteen years ago) link

also do you wear one of those smocks when you cook like that tall guy with a blue smock is wearing

я рилли (harbl), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:11 (fifteen years ago) link

Is he over 6 feet tall and male? I probably know him. I hope he likes New England, even if you don't.

blimey (unregistered), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:11 (fifteen years ago) link

Nah, I never wear a smock, and I sometimes get curry stains on my sweatshirts when I cook. I need a smock.

blimey (unregistered), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:12 (fifteen years ago) link

i have a wok but i always forget to use it and use a differnt pan instead. d'oh!

class act, thanks bro (tehresa), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:13 (fifteen years ago) link

(sometimes = once a couple weeks ago. it sucked)

blimey (unregistered), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:13 (fifteen years ago) link

he is like 6.5 feet tall and male. i don't know how he feels about new england. he hasn't lived many places, he's in college. he doesn't know how to use a wok either :(

я рилли (harbl), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:13 (fifteen years ago) link

sucks about the curry stains man

я рилли (harbl), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:14 (fifteen years ago) link

tru

If you learn how to use a wok in college, it ruins the experience of ordering cheap takeout thai food all the time. I wouldn't recommend it.

blimey (unregistered), Sunday, 22 February 2009 21:17 (fifteen years ago) link

fortunately i am not in college and takeout thai here is expensive and mediocre so i never order it.
