i saw her perform recently......... it was not good. i felt kinda bad.

i feel like you have to be pretty exceptional to have a good live rap set, especially with a laptop dj.. the ideas that go into tumblr cloud rap don't really mesh with the ideas that go into live performance

that's kinda what i assumed her performances would be like anyway? centering your performing persona around half-hearted self-deprecation just seems like something that is easier to pull off on record than in front of a live audience.

i mean there seems to be a constant stream of 'lol im a dorky wite rapper sorry you paid to see me' types like MC Chris touring rock clubs across the country, she seems to have tapped into a cottage industry that's been depressing and modestly profitable for a long time
