You like it? I thought it was pretty perfect.

it's pretty good! i didn't mind playing through it again even though i had been through it once before, so that's a definite plus. also, the music in the menu screens reminds me a lot of final fantasy tactics, so there are subliminal good vibes there as well.

_yeah, i'm having the same problem. i still haven't beaten it yet, but i've gotten close and i assume others (mordy!) will annihilate it. during my last runthrough, i ran into strange issues with the AI. in some cases the crew was choosing to grab resources from the opposite side of the base even though there were available resources steps away. that obviously wasted a lot of time, especially when it came to replacing dead crew members. i didn't really notice that issue the first time through - hopefully it's not something that commonly occurs._This is very frustrating. Prioritising rooms helped. Have accomplished first two goals. No interest in going for 45 minute research as stress would be too much. I love the snappy start up time. If only more of them did that!

I missed it by 1:21. Blasted minions!

you need an option to build a fucking school where they learn *how to read a fucking map*. there was one in particular in my last abortive attempt who seemed to treat the alien invasion klaxon as an invitation to have a stroll round, maybe explore a couple of interesting hitherto undiscovered banlieus, pop to its old manor for a cup of tea, loiter uncertainly on corners etc.
― Fizzles, Saturday, 17 August 2013 06:54 (ten years ago) link
I suppose they are made of sludge tho.
in fact I have some sympathy with the aliens, trying to nip this colony of congenital idiots in the bud before they infest the universe with their long-winded and purblind meanderings.

yet another console/PC game that doesn't translate well to an iPad
― Lee626, Tuesday, 27 August 2013 21:56 (ten years ago) link
That really isn't the issue here though.
― polyphonic, Tuesday, 27 August 2013 21:57 (ten years ago) link
Madden 25 for the console is also supposed to be pretty bad, and also the games are completely different.
― polyphonic, Tuesday, 27 August 2013 22:03 (ten years ago) link
not right thread but: is there a good Madden for console right now? I have 07, was thinking maybe something newer would be good, don't care about being up to date really, but maybe 07 is as good as I need then?
― Euler, Tuesday, 27 August 2013 22:38 (ten years ago) link
Hmm, I may be wrong about the new one. Gamespot didn't like it but the other reviews are fairly good:

Pro tip for those waiting for lives in Candy Crush, move your phones clock ahead by a few hours. (Not sure how they let that one slip by, and even less sure why despite being so obvious it's only just occurred to me.)

i have now beat "hard" and "harder" in super hexagon, but can only manage 12 seconds on "hardest".

gbod is driving me nuts now. Can't make it past 48000 points, and can make it to the third invinciboulder maybe 25% of the time, but never to the fourth one. the difficulty ramps up really sharply.
