A reality show called "Raffi is Rich" chronicling the opulent lifestyle of megastar child singer Raffi.

#fomo that's the motto (Hurting 2), Monday, 26 August 2013 13:58 (ten years ago) link

That would be great, especially if his life is totally drama free and just sort of pleasant and kid-friendly. He could really age into being a new Mister Rogers. (Before I get jumped on, not saying he is in the same league, just that there is a dearth of such programming these days.)

Doctor Casino, Monday, 26 August 2013 22:13 (ten years ago) link

yeah I was kind of picturing it being perverse and decadent. It all came out of a conversation in which it suddenly hit me "Wait a minute, this guy must have a BOATLOAD of money." Every parent in America has been buying his records for decades. Or maybe only in blue state land, idk, he's a little on the liberal side, but still. And I was just thinking it would be funny if Raffi is out there somewhere pulling up to chicks at the stoplight in his ferari, dropping lines like "Hey, you ever see a llama eating his pajamas?" And the thing is, Raffi can show you, because he has a whole herd of llamas at his ranch.

Btw, based on his Wiki page Raffi is a pretty cool dude but probably not down for this plan.

I was thinking today how if I were in the field of genetic engineering I would put 100% of my resources towards developing a creature that lives for 1000 years yet does nothing but constantly vomit and feel pain

crüt, Wednesday, 28 August 2013 20:29 (ten years ago) link

if we could figure out how to get the earth to rotate around the sun 10-20 times faster (can't be that hard), maybe we could make all of that happen without genetic engineering

I think that some of the most terrible of terrible ideas are. They have that superficial gloss of "well this could be great", just like "Let's remake Wrath of Khan!".

A "re-edit" of Who's Next consisting just of extended versions of the cool keyboard parts -- so basically just the intros to Baba O'Riley and Won't Get Fooled Again and maybe the keyboard solo from Bargain.

a conceptual "depressed guy" standup comedy routine in which I don't actually tell jokes, I just go on for my whole set complaining and moaning about how bad things are and sighing (but in the sort of "rhythm" of standup comedy), and then at the very end I suddenly become highly energized and shout "THANKS VERY MUCH LADIES AND GENTLEMEN YOU'VE BEEN A FANTASTIC AUDIENCE!"
