I don't think his career is entirely done, I just think his career as a big pop crossover star is done.

(fwiw if anyones confused there was not abuse in my family but i knew plenty of ppl who had stories abou that shit going on ... its a 'cultural thing' only in the broadest sense & exists across all demographics)

Kells didn't pee on one of the biggest music stars in the world. People find it easier to forgive a transgression against someone they don't know than against someone they do.

it sucks to say, but i think this is way worse for him because it's rihanna. if he beat the shit out of some no-name girl this would blow over way quickly, but this is gonna be a thing for the first 100 times that rihanna appears in public. and if she has any permanent scars or w/e he's 100x more fucked

i think this depends a lot on whether or not it goes to trial, how long the trial lasts, what rihanna says abt their relationship (isolated incident vs. pattern of abuse for example), past girls coming forward to testify, etc.

i don't know about whether or not i feel his career should be over, but uh, i just can't feel bad for him right now

imo this is a really sad situation -- i only feel bad in the sense that im sure this is part of the cycle of abuse & at some point he was knocked around or brought up to believe that was an appropriate way to deal with his problems. Which is really fuckin sad, but now id definitely say im not feeling much sympathy for him beyond that -- at a certain pt folks need to take responsibility & figure out whats right & whats not. his career is over ... and it probably should be
