how's the summer looking for people? i don't have much but i am looking forward to sweating myself into oblivion at beauty and the beat tonight.

oh, i was planning to go to that but failed to get a crew together - hope you have an excellent night!

this summer definitely deserves more dancing.

Anyone happen to be going to Eastern Electrics festival in Knebworth? Not technically London, but easy to get to.

Pingu Unchained (dog latin), Sunday, 14 July 2013 08:44 (five years ago) Permalink

Probably going to UR/Mills/Hood on August bank holiday.

Chewshabadoo, Sunday, 14 July 2013 12:23 (five years ago) Permalink

pretty cool that BATB have their full sets online now - - giving the most recent one a re-listen gave me the very important reminder of the ridiculous last ninety minutes or so, which included this in its entirety:

Interesting, althought the pictures look a little tame? I know that’s not a good judge of music, so I will give the mixes a spin.

I am definitely UR/Mills/Hooding though if anyone fancies meeting.

fuckin ell, never felt so happy and fulfilled at 1am as I do now after Journey Through The Light. Somewhat wondering if someone spiked my drink with nice things.

Matt DC, Monday, 23 September 2013 12:04 (five years ago) Permalink

The birthday has been a Sat-Mon power through for the last few years.

Villalobos was playing something like a 16-hour set in 2010.

Just a little bit of spam, but I will be dancing and also DJing at a night I run with friends in Dalston tonight from 9-3. We have Neville Watson guest DJing for us who is absolutely going to smash it, the space is very intimate, and we are also putting it on for FREE simply because we like to throw a good party, so no excuses really.

a wee way off, but Robert Hood and Luke Slater on 1st Feb looks good and doubtless yet again I'll have no one who'll be interested in coming with me

Hadn't really been out dancing in a while until this weekend. I think my tolerance for London nights is waning. It's the same problems of the last few years really - crap temporary venues, lack of organisation, but most of all the people. Why charge around the dance floor back and forth pushing people? Why get so out of it you can't stand up so fall into other dancers? If your friend does this you have a duty to help them. I had a good night at Netil House on Saturday but that was really due to being with good friends and Sonja Moonear's set. Fantastic DJ. Would definitely go out more often if there weren't these issues.

Come and try our night on the 22nd in Dalston. We only have a tiny sweatbox venue which holds 50, and only an OK soundsystem, but we keep it free, have a great atmosphere, friendly crowd (mostly mates, word of mouth and some posts in select places) and most importantly great tunes. OK, that last part can be subjective, so here’s a mix by another of the residents:

Event page here, . Yes I am going to hell for spamming ILX.

TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Wednesday, 16 July 2014 19:43 (four years ago) Permalink

was thinking fur coat & no artificial colours might be good but i've never been to the nest

TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Wednesday, 16 July 2014 19:45 (four years ago) Permalink

The Nest is a bit of a hellhole tbh. Started off kinda interesting but then they went all out with their trashy Dalstonite aesthetic.

The Hydra's schedule for the rest of the year is pretty impressive - - though tbh I think I've lost the taste for big name events.

Merdeyeux, Wednesday, 16 July 2014 20:34 (four years ago) Permalink

Hehe, my friend DJs at The Nest, I’ve never been though. We have Mark Forshaw playing for us in the basement of Olive, N16 7PL, near the 24 hour bagel place. 9-3am Free Entry. I’m going to be playing a very slow warm-up set from 9.

Chewshabadoo, Wednesday, 16 July 2014 21:14 (four years ago) Permalink

^ Er that’s this Saturday I should have mentioned.

Chewshabadoo, Wednesday, 16 July 2014 21:15 (four years ago) Permalink

London makes life very difficult, a reasonable venue pops up once in a while but its usually only a matter of time before its stopped. There's a good space on one of the side streets off Mare St but its already had quite a good innings so I dont know how much longer it has

saer, Friday, 2 January 2015 11:07 (four years ago) Permalink

Sad to see Plastic People go, though I always found that venue hard work

Can I spam you all with my next event? Really excited to be doing our first party out of a bar and in an industrial unit. Nice never-before-used space 1 minute from Hoxton.

Guests are:

Plant43 (live)
Jade Seatle
The Creeps (live) - London debut for Glaswegian techno duo

If anyone does fancy it, we will have the venue address up at 8pm on Sat here:
