HANNIBAL on NBC seems amazing and therefore deserves it's own thread!

Hannibal moves from lies to the truth really gently and easily. It's also weird and compelling that he allows himself to show warmth most when people he likes see his murderousness best.

A very intriguing and original first season, albeit not without its flaws. Even if it wasn't as good as it is I would still watch the next one on the strength of Mads' performance alone. My new favourite actor on TV (sorry Bryan).

I appreciate that Hannibal relates to other human beings, but the deeper the relationship becomes the more it deviates from normal interaction. Really well-acted rapport between Mikkelsen and Anderson.

Also hard to tell how much Gillian Anderson's character knew what she was eating.

On rewatch I am appreciating the sound design and musical cues even more. My initial viewing was very much influenced by the fact that I knew the nature of Hannibal Lecter's character. This time through, it seems really obvious that Will Graham is the killer. Completely believable that the other characters would think he was.

Yeah tbh I was surprised that Alana Bloom believed Will when he said he was framed.

this show is weird, like, until that episode i felt like it didn't know what game it was playing, then the last fifteen minutes of that one (montage to chirpy classical of hannibal's recipe cards and offal cookery shots, cut to will and the medical examiners staring at series of bodies) was some of the most bravura tv i have seen
