the other week I found a copy of their debut single for 50p. http://www.discogs.com/sell/list?release_id=1612344&ev=rb It'd probably be worth quite a bit if someone hadn't written in all of the numbered boxes on the sleeve.

Streaming on the Guardian. The comments were pretty much all abuse when I checked. Not that that's any indication.

just took a look at the comments and was expecting "what is this crap it's not music!" and instead got "this sucks, I only like their early stuff!" guess I underestimated the hipness quotient of the Guardian audience.

all the comments complaining that they bent too far toward a run-of-the-mill DFA sound are off base to me but I guess I could see it if you prefer their industrial side to their dancey side

So this thing's up on Spotify today, excellent so far imo.

weird, I guess they moved it up or something, I did end up doing the pre-order and in the email with the digital download it says the vinyl will ship later this week. on the webpage where they're selling it it still says it ships in October, haha. I've heard that getting vinyl pressed up in the U.S. is kind of a moving target nowadays as far as getting a solid date.

none of the singles worked for me entirely on their own but for some reason i'm really loving the album

I listened to this once and wasn't quite feeling it but I probably shouldn't have listened immediately after the new NIN. Think I need to get into more of a Carl Craig mindset with it.

I love it. Don't understand the naysayers at all. Lots of fun.

So I can't really get my head round this band, but feel like I might not be listening to the right stuff or something... I'd certainly like to give em another go. Can anyone recommend a top 10 tracks?

I'd say listen to the album. They are harsh and industrial, the DFA thing but more experimental. I never not find "fall back" to be exhilarating tbh.

What I've heard so far sounds like late-80s/early-90s industrial rave, a bit like Cabaret Voltaires but I wasn't sure what it was supposed to be much beyond that.

Go and see them live. They're probably pound for pound the best consistently good live band I've ever seen. Certainly at the dancier end of things that's true... it's impossible to make a reasonable comparison to, say, Public Enemy or SunnO))) for example.

I like the FF record ok, but MAN I like the Carter Tutti Void one a bit more. What a classic.

This is certainly a difficult record but it's winning me over. The singer was in KaitO, a real good guitar band from about 10 years ago.

I don't know, I tried with this but I think they're really boring. Just flat, one dimensional, seemingly using a lot of presets. To say it quickly runs out of steam would be an understatement. They barely seem to be trying by the end of the album.

this album is probably good in some way

obviously a little biased here as i put it out but "beachcombing" with peter gordon never ceases to take me to strange and bewitching places. i really hope they do another collaboration with him.

i'm still undecided about the album but that's partly because i don't really engage with albums very much. however, "how you say" blows me away and sounds monolithically great on a dancefloor.

I'm listening to Gabe Gurnsey's solo lp right now and it's extremely satisfying.

First Nik Void solo album, Bucked Up Space, to be released in April on Editions Mego.

The new Gabe Gurnsey album Diablo is wonderful, from what I've heard so far. Definitely the houseier side of the Factory Floor sound. Lead single Push is a banger.

Agree! It feels like New Order/Cabs comfort food, pretty similar to what LoneLady has been doing. The previous one was good, this one is better though I can't decide if I like the vocals or not.
