nancy weirded me out when i was a kid because everyone still looked like they were from the 40s but the strips were about modern things like using fax machines and microwaves.

Then you realized they were just the concert coordinators for local rockabilly festivals and everything made sense.

Man, Nancy is so consistently bizarre and weird and funny; I am surprised how low-brow and stupid it was considered in its time!!

I got that first year Fanta reprint of the complete Nancy & there is defs some filler,
just doing it so many decades there are a lot of standout ones, too.
It does make me look at the comics page differently. Marmaduke is dumb as fuck for example but sometimes it will have composition, or a premise, that would seem avant garde out of context.

As someone who suffered through the Jerry Scott era (and never read any of the Gilchrist stuff), this is kind of amazing.

Even if I hadn't suffered through the Jerry Scott era, it'd still be amazing.

These new strips are pretty good! I like all the modern tech gags. They do a good job of keeping the Bushmiller sensibility and style, but also feel fresh. My only gripe is that some of the adults look off-brand.
