Really, though, it's too bad that the EP didn't get the Version City treatment, I obsess over the beauty of the Each One LP.

It's true, actually -- the record won't be released till the beginning of May, I think, but all the strings have been recorded. The record will be finished by the end of this weekend. I hope it works out, too. You guys are very nice.

I wish the EP was on vinyl, too -- but it was not in the plans for Ace Fu, the label that put it out. The Wedding will definitely be on (gatefold) vinyl.

so my friend peter (wow, same name, blah blah) works with me at a record store. he loves the velvet underground, crass, dub reggae, and 20th century composition. last week, after i offhandedly suggested an album (nico's the end) to him, he told me i needed to "school him in rock". so, considering his musical tastes, and my own favorites, i made him a 2-CD80 mix, with the first disc being shorter, poppier songs, and the second disc being longer, more experimental rock. how did i do?

I wasn’t mad on the singles, but it all works much better in context. Digging this, though I do wonder if their 00’s output isn’t everything I’ll ever need from them.

Sane for me. I am always glad they are doing stuff, and find things to enjoy alright about the more recent albums, but they don't work for me like the first run of albums with the original lineup (and the albums post-Papa C that were trio records).

gosh it totally slipped my mind they were playing a bandshell concert in queens this past saturday with 75 dollar bill. kicking myself.

Still loving the new one, it's so great.

Mildly annoyed by Secretly Canadian with their distribution, ordered the Steel Rod EP and Happy New Year from them back in August, the two main holes in my Oneida collection and hadn't had any luck stumbling across copies in the wild. Every time I check back in I get a response about the items being "delayed coming from the warehouse", which fine, but creeping up on three months for older catalog titles they insist they have in stock seems like a long time. Mostly just annoyed that since I placed the order I've, naturally, came across a copy of each that I didn't buy because they were supposedly on the way.

Anyway, venting over, back to Success!

This is the greatest band, just such a killer catalog through and through.

I wish they would just release an album called You’e Having A Laugh already.
