she's the only interesting thing in a lot of really bad movies. she and brittany murphy and her whole chickens.

ian johnson's mom + jack bauer 2gether 4evah (Carey), Thursday, 4 January 2007 21:00 (seventeen years ago) link

I was going to say. Gia is terrible, but Jolie was born for that shit. she was amazing in it.

Hoosteen (Hoosteen), Thursday, 4 January 2007 21:02 (seventeen years ago) link

What's that one where she is a blonde reporter whose death is prophecized by some street weirdo (who may have been played by Tony Shalhoub)? I vaguely recall that being a Good Movie.

stoked for the madness (nickalicious), Thursday, 4 January 2007 21:02 (seventeen years ago) link

I'm still amused by the fact that she won an Oscar once, but then again so did Dorothy Malone.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn (Alfred Soto), Thursday, 4 January 2007 21:03 (seventeen years ago) link

that movie is Life or Something Like It and it is Not Good and OMG Ed Burns HAAAAAAATE!

horseshoe (horseshoe), Thursday, 4 January 2007 21:03 (seventeen years ago) link

ian johnson's mom + jack bauer 2gether 4evah (Carey), Thursday, 4 January 2007 21:04 (seventeen years ago) link

Ed Burns smells like a BAD WRITER WHO INEXPLICABLY GETS COMPARED TO WOODY ALLEN AND GETS CHICKS LIKE CHRISTY TURLINGTON!

horseshoe (horseshoe), Thursday, 4 January 2007 21:05 (seventeen years ago) link

ian johnson's mom + jack bauer 2gether 4evah (Carey), Thursday, 4 January 2007 21:06 (seventeen years ago) link

I can't believe I managed to get a few things done between admiring AJ and lusting after Mortensen.

Laurel (Laurel), Thursday, 4 January 2007 21:12 (seventeen years ago) link

I would never have guessed this thread was headed for 500 posts when i first took notice.

Thermo Thinwall (Thermo Thinwall), Thursday, 4 January 2007 21:14 (seventeen years ago) link

I don't even know what this thread about - except for maybe being the ilx equivalent of a conversation one would have in line at a grocery store by the tabloids.
like guessing what celebrities stink like.

Thermo Thinwall (Thermo Thinwall), Thursday, 4 January 2007 21:18 (seventeen years ago) link

Those Jake Gyyylenhaal Oscar pictures have seriously made my day you guys. Like, nobody else has ever had that much fun at anything ever.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn (Alfred Soto), Thursday, 4 January 2007 21:28 (seventeen years ago) link

rrrobyn, breeze blown meadow of cheeriness (rrrobyn), Thursday, 4 January 2007 21:46 (seventeen years ago) link

William Hurt looks like he's pretty hammered too, 'cept he's being all dignified and smilyy about it.

(I bet he smells like sourdough bread)

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn (Alfred Soto), Thursday, 4 January 2007 21:54 (seventeen years ago) link

You know what I like even more than sourdough bread? People who come on threads just to diss on the thread. I also bet Alfred is right about the Hurtster.

horseshoe (horseshoe), Thursday, 4 January 2007 22:59 (seventeen years ago) link

spectre (gear), Thursday, 4 January 2007 23:03 (seventeen years ago) link

ed burns would be the worst person to go to a bar with. he would talk and talk and talk and whenever it was his turn to buy a round he would disappear to the bathroom or for an important phone call on his blackberry.

ian johnson's mom + jack bauer 2gether 4evah (Carey), Thursday, 4 January 2007 23:07 (seventeen years ago) link

he would talk and talk and talk

in that voice!

horseshoe (horseshoe), Thursday, 4 January 2007 23:08 (seventeen years ago) link

Was Ed Burns one of the ones killed off in the first twenty minutes of Saving Private Ryan? I sure hope so.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 4 January 2007 23:15 (seventeen years ago) link

SPOILER

he's the only one who survived w/matt damon!

spectre (gear), Thursday, 4 January 2007 23:18 (seventeen years ago) link

that movie would have been a lot better with the same exact final scene as the departed

spectre (gear), Thursday, 4 January 2007 23:19 (seventeen years ago) link

Doesn't Jolie spend a big chunk of Life or SOmething Like It lounging around in a Ramones t-shirt? Hot.

milo z (mlp), Thursday, 4 January 2007 23:21 (seventeen years ago) link

"Happy Gilmore." It was Happy Gilmore that Viggo said he likes and has watched more than once. In a show of solidarity, I tried to watch it. Fell asleep. Hah!

Following on several earlier trends in this thread.... Did you know that Viggo was rumored to have broken up Gwenyth and Brad? This was around the time of "A Perfect Murder."

He still finds that funny, and one of my very favorite Viggo quotes said something along the lines of "People always ask about those scenes in A Perfect Murder." But I had some pretty hot stuff with Christopher Walken in "The Prophecy," and nobody asks about that."

I adore Viggo.

Hey Jude (Hey Jude), Friday, 5 January 2007 00:36 (seventeen years ago) link

that movie would have been a lot better with the same exact final scene as the departed

And with "Afternoon Delight" playing in the background.

mahalo 4 ur kokua (grady), Friday, 5 January 2007 20:38 (seventeen years ago) link

I even started thinking about what other celebrities must smell like afterwards!
For example: I'm quite sure Bon Jovi smells of wet cardboard and Madonna must reek of freshly fisted vagina 24/7

Thermo Thinwall (Thermo Thinwall), Friday, 5 January 2007 20:44 (seventeen years ago) link

WHAT is that, you mean.

he's the only one who survived w/matt damon!

JESUS Christ, worst ending ever.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 5 January 2007 20:44 (seventeen years ago) link

We kept talking about what celebrities smell like at our happy hour last night actually. Keira Knightley smells of marlboros and the powdered rug cleaner, while Natalie Portman smells of American Spirits and actual rug shampoo.

Allyzay Eisenschefter Pop You To The Extreme (allyzay), Friday, 5 January 2007 20:45 (seventeen years ago) link

portmang smells of matzoh and linament oil, i'm sure

If you fuck with Jimmy Mod, you call down the thunder (The Famous Jimmy Mod), Friday, 5 January 2007 20:46 (seventeen years ago) link

Natalie Portman smells like Shins CDs and The Galactic Senate (RIP).
