that was an insane overcorrection in the play of miami's role players but a reminder that the pacers really need chalmers/allen/battier/haslem to give the heat basically nothing

xp i hope for NBA 2K14 they just use a sample of Shaq going BIRDMAN BIRDMAN every time his name is called out

Nhex, Monday, 27 May 2013 03:25 (ten years ago) link

though chuck made a good point about lebron taking PG out of the game by going hard at him in the post really early

Heat flopping was on another level tonight. Embarrassing.

it appears that turning the ball over 4 times (5 if you count the last minute of garbage time) is a recipe for success

i remember 2-3 years ago when the cp3-led hornets turned it over only 3 times in the first round against the lakers, that's gotta be the record

in one game, that is

nah that's just noise

乒乓, Monday, 27 May 2013 14:22 (ten years ago) link

aw u mad

birdman is shooting .854 from the field in the postseason, 13/13 this series

he's made some crazy athletic shots. he had this turning alley oop thing last night.

it's gonna be sad when he finally misses.

J0rdan S., Monday, 27 May 2013 14:45 (ten years ago) link

birdman birdman

joe smith avatar (agent hibachi), Monday, 27 May 2013 19:35 (ten years ago) link

i can barely watch wade anymore without feeling a little sick, so much flopping and bitching at refs

joe smith avatar (agent hibachi), Monday, 27 May 2013 19:36 (ten years ago) link

i know building a bench is hard but the graphic of the pacers split up the teambuilding between larry bird (all five starters plus hansbroseph) and donny walsh (bunch of garbage) was p lol

joe smith avatar (agent hibachi), Monday, 27 May 2013 19:38 (ten years ago) link

obv he lost danny granger all year and really you could add him and then you just really need to hit one actual contributor off the rest of the bench and you're good but if miami has one of the haslem-allen-cole-etc mob have a good game each time that's basically the difference here

joe smith avatar (agent hibachi), Monday, 27 May 2013 19:40 (ten years ago) link

(aside from who has the best player on the planet)

joe smith avatar (agent hibachi), Monday, 27 May 2013 19:40 (ten years ago) link

mahinmi has been great tbh, only so much you can do in a year

i know building a bench is hard but the graphic of the pacers split up the teambuilding between larry bird (all five starters plus hansbroseph) and donny walsh (bunch of garbage) was p lol

but donnie is so much nicer to sportswriters

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 27 May 2013 19:54 (ten years ago) link

his moves haven't been TERRIBLE... mahinmi is better than collison but he's playing 5 mins a game in the ECF, so how good is he really? augistin has turned it up a bit recently... he can at least hit an open three

i thought gerald green would work out. drafting plumlee was awful though.

but that graphic was def pretty funny.

J0rdan S., Monday, 27 May 2013 20:25 (ten years ago) link

the plumlee pick is underrated garbage too because when your starting line up is set you really need to find good rookies for your bench and that was just doomed from the start

i def buy the argument that it would be huge for the pacers if sam young didn't ever have to play but on the other hand they should have enter players than sam young

J0rdan S., Monday, 27 May 2013 20:28 (ten years ago) link

better*

J0rdan S., Monday, 27 May 2013 20:29 (ten years ago) link

so timmy is at least the second NBA player after shaq to divorce his wife because she cheated on him with her trainer

乒乓, Monday, 27 May 2013 23:31 (ten years ago) link

i wonder if 'cheated on me with her trainer' is actually code for something

乒乓, Monday, 27 May 2013 23:32 (ten years ago) link

one if by lamp, two if by deeznuts (m bison), Tuesday, 28 May 2013 01:57 (ten years ago) link

elimination game playoff hockey > 3-0 playoff basketball

CJ McCollum ‏@CJMcCollum 15m
That triple baseline stagger is a killer in the NBA. PGs need to be able to read screens off ball as well. TP changes speeds off ball 2

moullet, Tuesday, 28 May 2013 03:09 (ten years ago) link

i'd like to see a one-on-one between lance stephenson and tony allen where they can only take 90 foot drives at the basket

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 28 May 2013 03:11 (ten years ago) link

WHAT THE FUCK

that can't be right

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 28 May 2013 03:15 (ten years ago) link

hes 34 according to wikipedia.com, he looks like hes thinking 'why did i buy a basketball team'

lag∞n, Tuesday, 28 May 2013 03:15 (ten years ago) link

now i get why he wanted to hire hollinger and why hollinger decided to work for him

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 28 May 2013 03:16 (ten years ago) link

yeah def

lol def makes sense that a guy whos super busy becoming a tech billionaire would hire the most popular if not necessarily the most sophisticated analytics focused basketball writer

lag∞n, Tuesday, 28 May 2013 03:18 (ten years ago) link

mike breen is very easily impressed

mike breen is one of our most exciting young basketball minds

lag∞n, Tuesday, 28 May 2013 03:23 (ten years ago) link

breen is great at calling closeout games tho

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 28 May 2013 03:28 (ten years ago) link

i wonder waht the smallest margin of victory in a sweep is cause this series is prob it

lag∞n, Tuesday, 28 May 2013 03:28 (ten years ago) link
