England make 600? hah

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Sunday, 15 February 2009 21:00 (fifteen years ago) link

On this pitch, that is. xp

zero learnt from nero (Neil S), Sunday, 15 February 2009 21:00 (fifteen years ago) link

Shah will get the rest of the series unless he gets 2 single figures scores next match. It's not like Bell can nip back to the counties and score a century or two.

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Sunday, 15 February 2009 21:02 (fifteen years ago) link

lol I was kiddin', Shah should get the whole summer too

there's no antivote to (country matters), Sunday, 15 February 2009 21:03 (fifteen years ago) link

He looks the real deal, if he can sort out his running between the wickets. Good player of spin too.

zero learnt from nero (Neil S), Sunday, 15 February 2009 21:03 (fifteen years ago) link

Not that that's a consideration for playing the Aussies!

zero learnt from nero (Neil S), Sunday, 15 February 2009 21:04 (fifteen years ago) link

I fancy bell will bat at 5 instead of Colly in the ashes IF bell gets some runs in the counties and colly fails for the rest of this tour. I get the feeling England might become more ruthless with selections.

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Sunday, 15 February 2009 21:07 (fifteen years ago) link

Bell is a good no5 (as is colly) hes not a no3. Hopefully Shah can come good at 3.

Argh another wkt thrown away

Time for Anderson's long-overdue first duck in Tests?

no

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Sunday, 15 February 2009 21:42 (fifteen years ago) link

Penultimate over of the day *shakes head* good knock though...

zero learnt from nero (Neil S), Sunday, 15 February 2009 21:43 (fifteen years ago) link

I still don't understand why KP doesn't bat at three.

Mr Raif, Sunday, 15 February 2009 21:43 (fifteen years ago) link

He's vulnerable to the new ball apparently.

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Sunday, 15 February 2009 21:58 (fifteen years ago) link

This is weird, Flat pitch, everyone's expecting KP to make a double hundred and he's out of sorts, dropped, should've been out LBW a few minutes ago. I guess if he does suddenly find his form he will punish them for it, but atm He doesn't look like doing that. But he's still there and he has his half century.

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Monday, 16 February 2009 16:55 (fifteen years ago) link

He'll hopefully free his arms now.

zero learnt from nero (Neil S), Monday, 16 February 2009 16:56 (fifteen years ago) link

Colly outscoring KP is not something you expect to see, still it's actually nice to see KP building an innings and I guess it's good to know he's capable of building an innings if he's not on absolute top form. A few years back he would've tried to push the score along and got out. I think he's maturing. If only he hadn't pushed the ECB too hard.
LJ you still convinced KP will be captain again by winter tour 2010?

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Monday, 16 February 2009 16:58 (fifteen years ago) link

Neil> yeah he could explode any minute, but he has all day to bat. If he is still there after tea there will be fireworks. WI haven't bowled badly today. Not too many loose "given up" deliveries that Harmison and Anderson can be prone to.

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Monday, 16 February 2009 17:00 (fifteen years ago) link

I like Fidel Edwards. Always looks the bowler with most potential when I see him. Benn impresses me too. Taylor is a good bowler too.(and gets KP out)

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Monday, 16 February 2009 17:01 (fifteen years ago) link

Cant see us getting 600 now

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Monday, 16 February 2009 17:01 (fifteen years ago) link

Would take getting another quick 150 and having a bowl tonight maybe.

zero learnt from nero (Neil S), Monday, 16 February 2009 17:02 (fifteen years ago) link

fred out. no 600

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Monday, 16 February 2009 17:04 (fifteen years ago) link

no 500

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Monday, 16 February 2009 17:04 (fifteen years ago) link

Pitch doing crazy stuff though!

zero learnt from nero (Neil S), Monday, 16 February 2009 17:05 (fifteen years ago) link

If england dont get 500-600 theres less pressure on WI batting, esp if the openers fire.

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Monday, 16 February 2009 17:05 (fifteen years ago) link

Nah only taylor is making it do stuff. Would you trust Harmison to have that effect? I bet jimmy gets the new ball ahead of him

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Monday, 16 February 2009 17:06 (fifteen years ago) link

Actually Harmison might be particularly effective on this pitch I think. Obv remains to be seen though...

zero learnt from nero (Neil S), Monday, 16 February 2009 17:16 (fifteen years ago) link

He cant be trusted though, I do think he's worth persevering with as he isn't as bad as he was last year BUT it's not like he does the odd amazing test match followed by bad ones. He has tended to be bad or bowled ok but not getting loads of wickets. Jimmy does do the hot n cold thing to a tee mind you. Cant see Broad bowling a team out (maybe in a few years)

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Monday, 16 February 2009 17:26 (fifteen years ago) link

if colly is out here then umpires are a joke. ball hit ground 1st

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Monday, 16 February 2009 18:20 (fifteen years ago) link

not out. good decision.

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Monday, 16 February 2009 18:22 (fifteen years ago) link

fifa/uefa take note

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Monday, 16 February 2009 18:22 (fifteen years ago) link

er it was pretty fkn blatant from the first replay that it hit the ground, i'd discredit the 3rd umpire for wasting 3 minutes of play

there's no antivote to (country matters), Monday, 16 February 2009 18:23 (fifteen years ago) link

Anyone remember Wayne Phillips getting out by hitting the ball into allan lambs boot and gower taking the catch at short leg in 1985?

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Monday, 16 February 2009 18:26 (fifteen years ago) link

Excellent century by Colly. 3rd in 9 innings since he came back fron being dropped last year. He had to work hard as fidel edwards and jerome taylor had some terrific fiery spells on a pitch that has kept low at times.

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Monday, 16 February 2009 20:07 (fifteen years ago) link

Now to score as quickly as they can and get 10-12 overs in tonight.

Athers and Beefy want 14/15

FFS how did the umpire miss that thick edge? Useless cunt.

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 17 February 2009 15:19 (fifteen years ago) link

When was the last time a batsmen walked? I cant even remember the last. Musta been YEARS ago.

Not that long ago

Vitbe Is Good Bread (Tom D.), Tuesday, 17 February 2009 15:23 (fifteen years ago) link

I cant think of any. It's something that noone seems to do now. I wonder if it really did happen back in ye olde days.

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 17 February 2009 15:24 (fifteen years ago) link

It did. Hardly ever though. I'm sure I saw someone do this in the last few years.

Vitbe Is Good Bread (Tom D.), Tuesday, 17 February 2009 15:26 (fifteen years ago) link

Gilchrist walked regularly.

zero learnt from nero (Neil S), Tuesday, 17 February 2009 15:26 (fifteen years ago) link

Funnily enough, I thought it was an Australian

Vitbe Is Good Bread (Tom D.), Tuesday, 17 February 2009 15:28 (fifteen years ago) link

If Monty did it, LJ would probably accuse him of bring thick.

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 17 February 2009 15:28 (fifteen years ago) link

I imagine it would be OK for Gilchrist to do it, I'm sure if almost anybody else tried it they'd get a right bollocking

Vitbe Is Good Bread (Tom D.), Tuesday, 17 February 2009 15:30 (fifteen years ago) link

Fred has injury problems and has gone off after no training today, not bowling early on and now only 4 overs in his spell, Harmison had to leave the field after being sick afte 4 overs. Not what you need when you have to get 20 wkts to square the series.

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 17 February 2009 15:30 (fifteen years ago) link

I think Yuvraj Singh walked recently.

Mequophidiophobia: fear of the beer snake (country matters), Tuesday, 17 February 2009 15:37 (fifteen years ago) link

At last, Powell finally out. Good catch from Colly at slip.

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 17 February 2009 15:48 (fifteen years ago) link

Interesting, another 2 wickets couldve fallen in that over if the referrals system had been up.
