pop had a little kermit the frog shimmy going there, i like it

this slayed me last night
http://deadspin.com/gregg-popovich-is-a-man-of-two-words-509922107
especially because doris is totally unfazed, almost like they scripted it- "turnovers." "pop, thank you."

joe smith avatar (agent hibachi), Sunday, 26 May 2013 20:45 (ten years ago) link

mad pop in the between-quarter interviews is always great like that

Nhex, Sunday, 26 May 2013 20:52 (ten years ago) link

:-----------o @ pop gif

loooool everyone is so drunk at the fieldhouse right now.

ヽ(´ー`)┌ (CompuPost), Monday, 27 May 2013 00:16 (ten years ago) link

we need to poll all these birdmans

lag∞n, Monday, 27 May 2013 00:20 (ten years ago) link

OTM, feel like there should also be an end-of-year ILH 1st Team vote (1st Team being People Who Most Embody the Spirit of Javale).

im getting there (drunkness)

#TrésBosh

ヽ(´ー`)┌ (CompuPost), Monday, 27 May 2013 00:37 (ten years ago) link

goddamn this is a little too WC-paced.

ヽ(´ー`)┌ (CompuPost), Monday, 27 May 2013 00:42 (ten years ago) link

basketball is back

moullet, Monday, 27 May 2013 00:44 (ten years ago) link

One cool adjustment Hibbert made after the first game (and never made during the IND/MIA series last year) was pump-faking / gathering when he's at the basket to throw off Heat's defensive rhythm. When he was going straight up w/ it, Bron/etc. were timing it right. Just a weird adjustment to make, but it totally worked well last game (and this one so far).

ヽ(´ー`)┌ (CompuPost), Monday, 27 May 2013 00:50 (ten years ago) link

last series he always looked in a hurry

fun 1st quarter. loved the tyler action

moullet, Monday, 27 May 2013 01:01 (ten years ago) link

PG just not strong enough yet to really defend low post. Was easier w/ dudes like Melo who would rather shoot a fallaway j than really bang it down low.

ヽ(´ー`)┌ (CompuPost), Monday, 27 May 2013 01:11 (ten years ago) link

There was that hesitation thing again.

ヽ(´ー`)┌ (CompuPost), Monday, 27 May 2013 01:25 (ten years ago) link

i'm on my phone so I can't find it but we totally have to do that ILH awards thread we started earlier this year!!

J0rdan S., Monday, 27 May 2013 01:48 (ten years ago) link

anyway heat-pacers games are so damn fascinating, i love these series

so weird that the heat have totally abandoned shooting threes/getting to the line in this game

J0rdan S., Monday, 27 May 2013 01:48 (ten years ago) link

Makes perfect sense though. Pacers perimeter d was neutralizing their 3 point shooting and the Pacers bigs are far too proficient down low for calls to be a factor in the Heats favour.

Lance in transition is one of my favorite things.

ヽ(´ー`)┌ (CompuPost), Monday, 27 May 2013 02:12 (ten years ago) link

bosh 4 fouls. birdman comin in for 7 minutes, game on the line

moullet, Monday, 27 May 2013 02:14 (ten years ago) link

this is haslem's mike miller 7 threes game

J0rdan S., Monday, 27 May 2013 02:24 (ten years ago) link

no birdman, battier! heat defense tonight elite too

moullet, Monday, 27 May 2013 02:26 (ten years ago) link

yeah vintage donny tonight

Wade should be fined for that one

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 27 May 2013 02:34 (ten years ago) link

birdman doesnt miss since his last tattoo

moullet, Monday, 27 May 2013 02:35 (ten years ago) link

Really surprised after all of these years Wade/Battier can still get these calls. It's one thing for defenders to bite on a Wade pump fake, but not this stuff.

ヽ(´ー`)┌ (CompuPost), Monday, 27 May 2013 02:36 (ten years ago) link

i think im at the point where, anybody who refers to the birdman as 'chris anderson', i cant take seriously

乒乓, Monday, 27 May 2013 03:18 (ten years ago) link

that was an insane overcorrection in the play of miami's role players but a reminder that the pacers really need chalmers/allen/battier/haslem to give the heat basically nothing

J0rdan S., Monday, 27 May 2013 03:24 (ten years ago) link

xp i hope for NBA 2K14 they just use a sample of Shaq going BIRDMAN BIRDMAN every time his name is called out

Nhex, Monday, 27 May 2013 03:25 (ten years ago) link

though chuck made a good point about lebron taking PG out of the game by going hard at him in the post really early

J0rdan S., Monday, 27 May 2013 03:54 (ten years ago) link

Heat flopping was on another level tonight. Embarrassing.

乒乓, Monday, 27 May 2013 12:42 (ten years ago) link

it appears that turning the ball over 4 times (5 if you count the last minute of garbage time) is a recipe for success

i remember 2-3 years ago when the cp3-led hornets turned it over only 3 times in the first round against the lakers, that's gotta be the record

in one game, that is

nah that's just noise

乒乓, Monday, 27 May 2013 14:22 (ten years ago) link

aw u mad

birdman is shooting .854 from the field in the postseason, 13/13 this series

he's made some crazy athletic shots. he had this turning alley oop thing last night.

it's gonna be sad when he finally misses.

J0rdan S., Monday, 27 May 2013 14:45 (ten years ago) link

birdman birdman

joe smith avatar (agent hibachi), Monday, 27 May 2013 19:35 (ten years ago) link

i can barely watch wade anymore without feeling a little sick, so much flopping and bitching at refs

joe smith avatar (agent hibachi), Monday, 27 May 2013 19:36 (ten years ago) link

i know building a bench is hard but the graphic of the pacers split up the teambuilding between larry bird (all five starters plus hansbroseph) and donny walsh (bunch of garbage) was p lol

joe smith avatar (agent hibachi), Monday, 27 May 2013 19:38 (ten years ago) link

obv he lost danny granger all year and really you could add him and then you just really need to hit one actual contributor off the rest of the bench and you're good but if miami has one of the haslem-allen-cole-etc mob have a good game each time that's basically the difference here

joe smith avatar (agent hibachi), Monday, 27 May 2013 19:40 (ten years ago) link

(aside from who has the best player on the planet)

joe smith avatar (agent hibachi), Monday, 27 May 2013 19:40 (ten years ago) link

mahinmi has been great tbh, only so much you can do in a year

i know building a bench is hard but the graphic of the pacers split up the teambuilding between larry bird (all five starters plus hansbroseph) and donny walsh (bunch of garbage) was p lol

but donnie is so much nicer to sportswriters

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 27 May 2013 19:54 (ten years ago) link

his moves haven't been TERRIBLE... mahinmi is better than collison but he's playing 5 mins a game in the ECF, so how good is he really? augistin has turned it up a bit recently... he can at least hit an open three

i thought gerald green would work out. drafting plumlee was awful though.

but that graphic was def pretty funny.

J0rdan S., Monday, 27 May 2013 20:25 (ten years ago) link

the plumlee pick is underrated garbage too because when your starting line up is set you really need to find good rookies for your bench and that was just doomed from the start

i def buy the argument that it would be huge for the pacers if sam young didn't ever have to play but on the other hand they should have enter players than sam young

J0rdan S., Monday, 27 May 2013 20:28 (ten years ago) link

better*
