pineapple on pizza

I won't get a divorce because my wife orders pizza with pineapple, but I always order another without.

There are three acceptable pizza toppings:

1) Pepperoni
2) Sausage
3) Mushrooms

those are good too

pineapple is amazing if it is countered by salty meat, preferably bacon--i don't think ppl should get too cute with it but that combo totally rules.

as a non meat eater i wouldn't ever consider having pineapple on pizza, but i don't have a philosophical problem with it.a

i like the passion ppl have about pizza toppings. pizza is pretty important after all. i am sure we played out a debacle over corn on pizza in times gone by. me, i like cheese pizza. good enough not to have to fuck with it.

the worst is buffalo chicken pizza. that is so popular where i live, for an inexplicable reason. i would rather eat pineapple pizza than buffalo chicken pizza.

Ha, I clicked on this thread with the exact purpose of saying that not only do I like pineapple on pizza, I like barbecue chicken pizza! I used to get that all the time at Fez in NYC, now closed I think. They made a good apple and brie pizza too, I suppose that's also for savages?

I loved living in New Jersey but humorless pizza jag-offery is one thing I don't miss about it. Pizza is not a relic, it's alive and changing like the Constitution! Here in Wisconsin we put macaroni and cheese on our pizza and it's fucking great.

green pepper is not that bad. i <3 mushrooms on everything, if they were an option at frozen yogurt places i would definitely consider them. i made an arugula and poached egg pizza once and it was awesome.

i hate green pepper on all things so. actually i used to like mushrooms more, but the only pizza my mom will eat is no sauce + COVERED COMPLETELY in mushrooms, like you can't see anything except mushrooms, and now mushrooms on pizza sort of makes me sick

There's a pizza chain up here (oh well I guess down there too, Boston Pizza?) that has perogi pizza: potato slices and green onions with a big heap of sour cream in the centre. :( Former boss ordered it for me once. Blegh.

Whenever I get my favorite pie from a local joint, I always have them swap out the pineapple with mushrooms, and I HATE mushrooms.

I'm wholly against fruit in non-dessert contexts -- i.e. in salads, with cheese, all GROSS. Tomatoes excepted, of course.

She raved and raved, and is Ukrainian (used to bring in her Mom's homemade perogis from time to time & share) so I was won over, but it was so tough to swallow. I have flashbacks sometimes. xp

pineapple on pizza is nasty. and i like hot pineapple -- one of my fav ways to eat it is to throw it on the grill until it gets a nice char.

i basically don't trust anyone's opinion on pizza if they're not from (a) naples (b) along the metro-north.

We made a southwestern sweet potato & soy chorizo pizza last night using some leftovers, it was a triumph.

nice. i'm generally a 2 toppings max person. don't like a slice that is unwieldy if picked up. have never had one with, but chorizo/soyrizo seems like a terrific concept.

some places here offer an “aussie” pizza which customarily features ham/bacon and egg - I haven’t partaken in a long time but used to be quite partial to a good one - I don’t know what makes this combination “aussie” other than perhaps we were the first colony godless enough to try it?

my friend who runs a pizza place recently developed an experimental spam/furikake/teriyaki-sauce offering; i can’t say you should ever have more than a piece of it at a time but certainly it ought to be reassigned “hawaiian”

i have always thought this total shit until by chance i was forced to a slice with jalapeno and pineapple, and all of my pineapple hatred and objection was conquered. (i got MASSIVE sick at age 20 from drinking vodka and room temp pineapple juice, and thank god i didn't start hating vodka).
