can definitely see Mumphis making it to the finals this year though

frogbs, Thursday, 16 May 2013 14:11 (ten years ago) link

xp to k3v right, though it definitely gets you further on average than top offense and mediocre defense usually save some exceptions like this year's gsw and mid 2000s suns (who id argue were really somewhat below mediocre defense but nuclear-level offense)

joe smith avatar (agent hibachi), Thursday, 16 May 2013 14:13 (ten years ago) link

looking forward to z-bo's run of national commercials next year if they make it to the finals

joe smith avatar (agent hibachi), Thursday, 16 May 2013 14:14 (ten years ago) link

Crazy that both Rip and Tayshawn were still playing important playoff minutes in 2013.

ヽ(´ー`)┌ (CompuPost), Thursday, 16 May 2013 14:26 (ten years ago) link

you can make it to a certain point with average offense/sick defense but even when the celtics won the title they were top 10 in offensive efficiency

grizz & pacers weren't even in the top 15

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 May 2013 14:26 (ten years ago) link

@tomhaberstroh: Perkins finished with a NEGATIVE PER in the playoffs. -0.7 = worst ever with 200+ mins.

乒乓, Thursday, 16 May 2013 14:38 (ten years ago) link

gordon hayward breathes a sigh of relief

I think Pacers were in the top half of either PPG or PPP in the second half; really a totally different team offensively once they settled in. Not sure what the numbers say, but they looked historically bad during the first 20-30 games.

Wouldn't be surprised if Memphis, esp. post-Gay, have steadily improved offensively.

negative PERk

call all destroyer, Thursday, 16 May 2013 14:42 (ten years ago) link

Is Memphis offense really bad or is the pace just slow?

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Thursday, 16 May 2013 14:45 (ten years ago) link

Tough to believe there have been 32 playoff campaigns worse than the one Jason Kidd has put together these playoffs. Jason Collins three entries in Top 40 :/

ヽ(´ー`)┌ (CompuPost), Thursday, 16 May 2013 14:50 (ten years ago) link

okc wouldve won w westbrook imho, but i do think memphis has a better shot against miami via matchups, also their offense is prob a lil better than they played this season as rudy gay was fn shit up when he was there and then they had to adjust to him being gone, tho obvs youre only gonna be so good starting prince and allen

Jackson even talked about how the sexual-assault charges levied against Bryant in 2003 temporarily changed his outlook on the perennial All-Star.

It "cracked open an old wound" because Jackson's daughter was the victim of an assault while on a date with an athlete in college.

"Brooke expected me to get angry and make her feel protected. Instead I suppressed my rage — as I'd been conditioned to do during childhood by my parents … it left her feeling alone and unsupported. (In the end, after filing a report with the police, Brooke chose not to press charges.)

"The Kobe incident triggered all my unprocessed anger and tainted my perception of him. ... It distorted my view of Kobe throughout the 2003-04 season. No matter what I did to extinguish it, the anger kept smoldering in the background."

Really just want the Knicks to lose so we can stop hearing about them

Kidd scoreless streak is astonishing tho

Why was copeland buried for half this series and a chunk of the first round? He seems decent

joe smith avatar (agent hibachi), Friday, 17 May 2013 01:56 (ten years ago) link

woodson buried all his good players, cf prigioni

乒乓, Friday, 17 May 2013 02:03 (ten years ago) link

Treeship, Friday, 17 May 2013 02:28 (ten years ago) link

lag∞n, Friday, 17 May 2013 02:29 (ten years ago) link

Lol that Sam Young flop should be a gif in about 2 minutes, as bad as the boozer bosh sniper flop

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Friday, 17 May 2013 02:46 (ten years ago) link

my post was also a callback to a post jordan made after i branched out to ilnfl like 5 years ago

i think ILH could use a knicks fan to beat around a little bit

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Friday, 17 May 2013 02:55 (ten years ago) link

There's another quarter? Of this? So, how's "The Office" finale?

The game's over, right?

Somewhere in that sequence, I typed the following in my notes: "I have no idea what is going on."

I just blacked out for the last 30 seconds of the game.

sums up this series

moullet, Friday, 17 May 2013 03:00 (ten years ago) link

i'm glad they are winning. i think they can still win the series. they are a better team than indiana it's just a bad match up.
