rip hamilton blocking wade on the fastbreak probably the lowest moment of wade's career

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 15 May 2013 23:59 (ten years ago) link

bosh shooting 7/14 from three in the playoffs now

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:02 (ten years ago) link

He's the next Steph Curry.

EZ Snappin, Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:03 (ten years ago) link

lol how did the bulls tie this

乒乓, Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:04 (ten years ago) link

they're shooting 51% from the field and 4-5 from three

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:05 (ten years ago) link

heat will always have those 1st 8 minutes

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:06 (ten years ago) link

and 8 playoff victories over the bulls

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:07 (ten years ago) link

Bulls have swept Heat in playoffs, Heat never swept Bulls if you wanna play this game, frenchy

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:11 (ten years ago) link

oh wait you weren't a fan then cause they didn't yet collude to create super team

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:13 (ten years ago) link

isn't j0rd from florida?

乒乓, Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:16 (ten years ago) link

well i was 8

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:16 (ten years ago) link

i was never really a huge heat fan, i'm pretty agnostic as far as the nba goes

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:18 (ten years ago) link

dang

乒乓, Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:18 (ten years ago) link

i'll be getting the pitchforks and assembling the mob now

乒乓, Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:21 (ten years ago) link

i really liked the wade-odom-butler team but i found them to be kinda unlikable in the wade/shaq years and then they were just totally dreadful and unwatchable from about the season after they won it all up until the superteam

i root for the heat because everyone wanted them to fail, it's convenient for me that they happened to end up on the heat

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:22 (ten years ago) link

the heat being the big 3

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:22 (ten years ago) link

are you team-agnostic in all the other sports you follow

乒乓, Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:23 (ten years ago) link

the nba is a unique sport i think... there are certain teams with enough history that it would be a bit weird if you were from that city but didn't root for that team (boston, chicago etc) but otherwise because of the lack of parity it can be a pretty fruitless existence. i couldn't imagine "rooting" for the wizards or the bucks or whatever.

which is why i advocate rooting for teams that are fun or interesting or whatever the case may be. every other sport is a different story though.

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:25 (ten years ago) link

no i strictly root for hometown teams in other sports. again, the big 3 ending up in miami happened to be convenient.

of course once it becomes clear that the dolphins or the marlins or whatever are going to openly suck i'll pull for some teams when the playoffs come, but that's a different thing.

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:26 (ten years ago) link

and with that i'm off to see kanye west perform at an adult swim event, enjoy the second half everyone

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:27 (ten years ago) link

well i don't think anybody itt is arguing that you can't root for other teams besides your home team, we're just saying it's weird for ppl not to have a default team to always stan for regardless of circumstances

乒乓, Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:27 (ten years ago) link

eh in basketball i prefer to pleased aesthetically

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:28 (ten years ago) link

like nobody is saying clay can't root for the grizz because he's a blazers fan, or that i can't appreciate the heat aesthetically because i'm a sixers fan

乒乓, Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:30 (ten years ago) link

yeah I def float around on the ether looking for a mistress 2nd team to cling to

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:33 (ten years ago) link

/i root for the heat because everyone wanted them to fail, it's convenient for me that they happened to end up on the heat/

no u do not get to pretend the heat are some sort of anti heroes just cause they fucked up their marketing

lag∞n, Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:36 (ten years ago) link

rose-butler-deng-boozer-noah should be a pretty good starting 5 next year, looking forward to it. assuming rose is still rose and deng isn't dead.

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:38 (ten years ago) link

why do people still try to foul lebron when he's by the rim

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:42 (ten years ago) link

u ppl make me sick

yeah agreed i think it's fine just as long as you're not obnoxious about it, like you and i obviously are very big fans of the NBA, i don't think anyone would deny that, we spend probably too much time and money watching games etc, so i think it's legitimate to root "for good basketball" and ave favorite teams that are fun or serve an idealogical purpose that can change every once in a while

matt i would assume is the same way, idk how he became a nuggs fan but i think he would consider himself a "nuggs fan" even tho it probably wasn't always that way

dont talk to Jordan he's watching kanye on adult swim

lol

the spurs over the last few years have been a solid second favorite of mine both in terms of pleasure and ideology. i think they're a legit fun team to watch but also in terms of ideology i think it's lame how they still have the "boring" label of a decade ago because it's clear people don't watch the games so i root for them because of that. also i like the euro drive and kick style of play so i like to see them succeed because of that, and also i like the pop/manu strategy/on-court analytics so i also root for that to succeed

whoa haslem's jersey magically was fixed

anyway not sure why ya'll are so mad about this

乒乓, Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:57 (ten years ago) link

try to understand, i do want you as a fan

乒乓, Thursday, 16 May 2013 00:57 (ten years ago) link

i think "boring" re: spurs has been refashioned to sort of a sarcastic "man, it's pretty boring how pop keeps banging out 50+ win seasons without a significant free agent add or lottery pick ... same old spurs right?" as opposed to "what a boring style of play"

is timmy still the face of the franchise or has it shifted to parker? casual fan still thinks timmy i'm sure...

drew holidaze (livethedream), Thursday, 16 May 2013 01:03 (ten years ago) link

timmy still the anchor of the defense though the offense runs through parker night in and night out

it depends who you talk to - casual fans definitely think the spurs are old, slow, and defensive-minded

wtf since when can norris cole dunk

such a good thing that Lebron told everyone he doesn't flop only a couple of days ago.

EZ Snappin, Thursday, 16 May 2013 01:22 (ten years ago) link

haha

lag∞n, Thursday, 16 May 2013 01:30 (ten years ago) link

true k3vin i guess i was drawing a broader comparison between casual and non-casual fans

drew holidaze (livethedream), Thursday, 16 May 2013 01:49 (ten years ago) link

two different connotations of "boring"

drew holidaze (livethedream), Thursday, 16 May 2013 01:49 (ten years ago) link

rip bulls no one can say u didnt have the gumption

lag∞n, Thursday, 16 May 2013 01:50 (ten years ago) link
