how come she doesn't get to shrug it off and be like 'grow up', that is p much the exact right response, and to say she really doesn't need anyone else stepping up to her defense is also exactly right

i was cool with her shrugging it off but i thought it was lame when she bragged about how she gets to spend time with danny brown.

seems kinda like her head is in a fucked up place imo

if she felt like danny not dealing with it all was appropriate that's on her i guess but i don't know if that was me in that situation i'd want my friend to tell those people to fuck off, just on a "i got your back" tip

anyway this is really disappointing. i think i had a show that night or i would have been there.

that's exactly it, it sounds like it was just a couple of people at a show being jerks and prolly not even on danny brown's radar at the time and no one, even kitty, really cares all too much except the outrage factories on the internet

like, obviously chanting shit like that at a show is not cool, but not everyone has to respond with some big missive about what it means in critical terms, sometimes you can just respond by being like "this is not a big deal to me"

at the madison show danny brown came on 1 hr late b/c apparently he was so drunk/stoned that he had passed out in the tour bus. when they finally got him up it was almost 1 AM and he was clearly really groggy. this was evident in his between-song patter but his rapping was completely on point, which is some kind of real achievement.

i just note this to say that yeah he was probably completely oblivious to what was happening during kitty's set.

but it's weird that it seems to have been written without the confidence/input of danny himself. she assured us that she knows what he is feeling but on no evidence

which honestly is kind of bad. not as bad as sucking danny brown's dick while he's performing. not as naff as all the misogyny evident at these shows. but kind of bad nonetheless

feel like for kitty her friendship with/access to the mind of danny brown is real capital and she's going to use it

which tarnishes her insights a little

yeah, maybe, but i'm not into it, so i'm not too fussed.

sure, some teens will be into kitty pryde while others won't. that much is obvious enough. i meant that this strikes me as music made by and for teens, thus best evaluated by them, according to whatever weird teenage criteria they have bouncing around in their heads. when they group up, they'll re-evaluate it, and only then will we get any useful perspective on it.

of course grown-ups in the here and now will have and express opinions about it, too. we'll do this because we can't help ourselves, but grown-up opinion seems almost completely irrelevant. this music isn't for us, so the fact that many of us will hate it is no more interesting to me than the fact that a few will inevitably like it (though the former do seem a bit less creepy).
