A telemarketer just called for my boss. When I came on the line she said, "I asked for #$#% #$%$##!"

Wow, your boss actually IS called Fucky McFuck.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 15 December 2003 10:07 (twenty years ago) link

Hey, Pink!

I didn't get to relax as much as I'd like because there were parties... (Friday night I was too tired and stroppy and went home early, and apparently missed Suzy & Ed) but we watched a lot of DVD's and movies - and even went to the Cinema! I like the Curzon! Yesterday was nice. Had dinner with 22 old friends - I was really nervous about it, because I was scared that someone I hate was going to be there, but he didn't show up, and lots of people I didn't expect to be there *did* show up, and it was really fun!

I can't believe I've only got a week of work left... my god, I'll go into ILX withdrawl, and how I will miss you guys while I'm in the country!

Hi hi,

I had a lovely weekend with Sarah - we didn't do a great deal more than just hang out, and it was smashing. We went to my parents for dinner on Saturday, and had a really nice chat with them - they're pretty ace people. We also dressed their Xmas tree, which is a pain in the arse but kinda satisfying when it's all done and sparkly :)

Then yesterday we did some chores, I visited my grandmother, we watched the Leeds v Fulham match, had a takeaway curry, and watched Poirot. It was a pretty great weekend, actually.

On the minus side, I think my Italian grandmother is probably going to die pretty soon. She's 92, so it's the proverbial good innings, but still.

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 15 December 2003 10:54 (twenty years ago) link

Ha-ha, you watched Poirot, too? I normally wouldn't be caught dead watching ITV, but I got sucked into it. (OK, I think partly HSA just wanted to oogle the cute guy from Queer As Folk. What is about that guy? I think he's attractive, but he seems to send normally straight guys all gushy!)

HRH Queen Kate (kate), Monday, 15 December 2003 11:06 (twenty years ago) link

Not me.

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 15 December 2003 11:57 (twenty years ago) link

Liz made a load of mulled wine on Saturday - yum! We consumed with Sainsburys LUXURY mince pies!

Yesterday we watched The Royal Tenenbaums and Patrick Keiller's London. A spur-of-the-moment decision in Iceland meant we had Haggis for dinner - I made mustard mash.

Dancing to pop music also happened.

robster (robster), Monday, 15 December 2003 12:14 (twenty years ago) link

I had the best w/e! The only time we left the house for for more alcohol or food! We did nothing but eat, drink, watch tv, play on the playstation2, dance & laugh loads! Much fun was had by all. The football yesterday was interesting, james' team against mine, I didn't cheer for any goals even thought there were 5! Although I think it should have been a draw based on performance, I was pleased that Leeds won, as hopefully it helps their situ. Oh & that my boy wasn't a nitemare for the rest of the day!!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 15 December 2003 12:15 (twenty years ago) link

I am sort of in a strange state at the moment. I actually had a really good weekend, with a party with almost all the people I love most in the world on Saturday night, an easy journey home by night bus at 2, then on Sunday I had a Sky dish installed and now have god knows how many channels. 150+ I believe. Obviously it's almost all rubbish, but I shall be pleased to catch up on American wrestling, and I hope Eurosport are still covering the sumo bashos.

But on the other hand the stress of recent weeks has really got to me, and I recognise some symptoms of the old clinical depression. No suicidal thoughts so far, but the panic and anxiety is there again, and I have spotted myself dodging tasks and responsibilities a bit, avoiding anything a bit demanding - which is very bad at home at the moment as there are things still to be sorted in the new flat, and just as bad at work where I am getting more and more responsibility, and am in for promotion so I don't want to look as if I can't handle it all.

So I feel pulled both ways at present, and I don't know which will prevail. At the moment I am only suffering some side symptoms of depression without actually feeling depressed, which is an odd mix, in my experience.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 15 December 2003 13:48 (twenty years ago) link

Is there anything you think you may be able to do Martin? (i.e. see a doctor/counsellor?)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 15 December 2003 13:49 (twenty years ago) link

Hi. Sarah and I need suggestions for the name of the Petrified Forest album, which is done except for artwork. Nothing TOO twee please.

NA (Nick A.), Monday, 15 December 2003 14:07 (twenty years ago) link

"Vladivostok"

"Strikebreakers Union 452"

"See this fist"

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 15 December 2003 14:12 (twenty years ago) link

"fuxor"

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 15 December 2003 14:13 (twenty years ago) link

"Trees to Stone", bah so your not using my art work!

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Monday, 15 December 2003 14:13 (twenty years ago) link

What about 'so you're not using my artwork?'

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 15 December 2003 14:14 (twenty years ago) link

Oh Chris we might use your pic, like maybe on the inside or something. I kind of forgot about that. But I don't know what should be on the front, suggestions for that are welcome.

NA (Nick A.), Monday, 15 December 2003 14:25 (twenty years ago) link

i'm just kidding anyways. you should use a picture of hairy saddam.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Monday, 15 December 2003 14:28 (twenty years ago) link

Ha ha I think it will be called "BINGO!"

NA (Nick A.), Monday, 15 December 2003 14:29 (twenty years ago) link

haha!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 15 December 2003 14:30 (twenty years ago) link

"BOING!"

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 15 December 2003 14:36 (twenty years ago) link

Cheer up, Martin! Zone out in front of the 'boob tube,' as my dad calls it.

Pink, when I first read your post upthread, I thought you and james actually played each other in soccer, each with your own teams.

I had a great weekend. Nick's band's last show was great. Then it took us 2 and a half hours to get home when it would normally take us one because the snow made it so hard to see. Also, we drove off the road once and the car got overheated. But it was fun to see snow anyway, because when we got back to Richmond it was only rain there.

I am gradually sifting through papers on my desk at work and throwing out as many as possible.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 15 December 2003 14:37 (twenty years ago) link

hehe

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Monday, 15 December 2003 14:38 (twenty years ago) link

Hey, Nick. What about:

It was a rich, invaluable slice of life

(a lyric?)

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 15 December 2003 14:38 (twenty years ago) link

That's not the lyric though.

NA (Nick A.), Monday, 15 December 2003 14:39 (twenty years ago) link

I'm thinking "Invisible Touch" or "Poison Arrow."

NA (Nick A.), Monday, 15 December 2003 14:40 (twenty years ago) link

I wish that was right Sarah, but james gets so competitive, I fear the consequences!! ;-)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 15 December 2003 14:40 (twenty years ago) link

ha ha, Pink.

I was trying to come up with some sort of title involving Stone Fox.

(hey, what's the lyric then, NA?)

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 15 December 2003 14:48 (twenty years ago) link

Why don't you listen to the cd and find out?

NA (Nick A.), Monday, 15 December 2003 14:51 (twenty years ago) link

Why all the hate? Feel the love!

HRH Queen Kate (kate), Monday, 15 December 2003 15:29 (twenty years ago) link

I wish I could feel the love, Kate, but all I feel is a red X.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 15 December 2003 15:30 (twenty years ago) link

Dammit, I don't know what's going on. It showed up on the other thread; I can see it and PinkP could see it, I don't know why it's stopped working. Stupid geocities. Grrrrrr.

HRH Queen Kate (kate), Monday, 15 December 2003 15:35 (twenty years ago) link

Maybe only ppl that really want to see it can!!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 15 December 2003 15:58 (twenty years ago) link

(I think, actually, that only people who have been to the geocities html page and have the image in their cache can see the love.)

(Replace the .txt with a .html and it might work)

HRH Queen Kate (kate), Monday, 15 December 2003 16:00 (twenty years ago) link

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 15 December 2003 16:01 (twenty years ago) link

Well, you are special. You and Pash and Andrew Farrell are all special!

HRH Queen Kate (kate), Monday, 15 December 2003 16:02 (twenty years ago) link

Morning all. I'm alive. I made it through my "one last assignment."
So, Luna, call off the murderous vendetta. Or not, if you've already set the wheels in motion.

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 15 December 2003 16:03 (twenty years ago) link

Hooray for me, Pash & Farrell. Oh & a big HOORAH! to Mr Mann!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 15 December 2003 16:06 (twenty years ago) link

Special people, special needs!

HRH Queen Kate (kate), Monday, 15 December 2003 16:07 (twenty years ago) link

It's ok, james says that to me all of the time. You'll keep lady! mwah ha ha ha!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 15 December 2003 16:08 (twenty years ago) link

Yay, I can see it now, Kate. I think the data transfer had reached its limit before. What a cute pic!

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 15 December 2003 16:22 (twenty years ago) link

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 15 December 2003 17:08 (twenty years ago) link

Kate and Sarah look like they could be sisters!

Casuistry (Chris P), Monday, 15 December 2003 17:16 (twenty years ago) link

We're sisters in rock n roll.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 15 December 2003 17:18 (twenty years ago) link

but, uh, shouldn't you be happy at least that I wasn't assassinated?

Of course - I thought that was implied. Forgive me.
