phil-two (phil-two), Thursday, 18 November 2004 19:37 (nineteen years ago) link

Alba sent me NOTHIN'. I hate him. :-(

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 18 November 2004 19:39 (nineteen years ago) link

Yeah, I'd like the Ada still, too, obv.!

Sanjay McDougal (jaymc), Thursday, 18 November 2004 19:40 (nineteen years ago) link

I'd really like either of the Nathan Fake mixes. My gmail is the same as my yahoo mail.

RickyT (RickyT), Thursday, 18 November 2004 19:44 (nineteen years ago) link

phil and jaymc, it's being taken care of.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 18 November 2004 19:48 (nineteen years ago) link

sent.
&
what d'ya need, ned?

i just ordered the nathan fake record the other day but i fear it may be on terminal backorder? could someone send me those? funwithreality@gmail.com
anyone know of a shop online with availability?

firstworldman (firstworldman), Thursday, 18 November 2004 19:49 (nineteen years ago) link

Could someone please send me those LCD Soundsystem tracks, too? I heart james murphy greatly.

Felonious DrunXorz, Thursday, 18 November 2004 19:50 (nineteen years ago) link

Ricky - I'll send you the Icelandic Nathan Fake (which I haven't had time to actually hear yet!)

I will send Ned... something. OK, 'Baby's On Fire' and the Nathan Fake. Just because forwarding gmail attachments is quicker than sending new ones, I think.

I'd still like the 'Happiness' remixes...

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 18 November 2004 19:51 (nineteen years ago) link

what d'ya need, ned?

Fear not, Greg, as Alba has stepped up after my whining. Thanks to both! (Greg: any chance you'll be at Taco Rosa/Kitsch this Sunday for Dan Bremmer's going away party? It'll rock.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 18 November 2004 19:52 (nineteen years ago) link

phil and jaymc, it's being taken care of.

Sorry!

Sanjay McDougal (jaymc), Thursday, 18 November 2004 19:53 (nineteen years ago) link

spencer can you hook me up? anything you need?

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Thursday, 18 November 2004 19:55 (nineteen years ago) link

(xpost alba)
i'd send those, alba, but they're each more than 10mb... that won't work for gmail, right? any other options. i could upload them if people don't bumrush them, as i'd be doing it on the work web space.

(xpost ned)
ned, was not aware of any such goings-on. all depends on work situation over the weekend.

firstworldman (firstworldman), Thursday, 18 November 2004 19:55 (nineteen years ago) link

Oh wait I misunderstood. Thank you, Spencer :)

Sanjay McDougal (jaymc), Thursday, 18 November 2004 19:56 (nineteen years ago) link

This thread is hilarious if some of these posts are taken out of context!

adam... (nordicskilla), Thursday, 18 November 2004 19:56 (nineteen years ago) link

Yeah, it's very mob. Adam, do you need anything fixed?

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 18 November 2004 19:58 (nineteen years ago) link

yay thanks

phil-two (phil-two), Thursday, 18 November 2004 19:59 (nineteen years ago) link

ned, was not aware of any such goings-on. all depends on work situation over the weekend.

Dan just posted on Myspace about it a couple of hours back. Taco Rosa at 7:30 pm, Kitsch from 9 pm after. Yay rah etc. -- if you can make Taco Rosa, e-mail Dan to let him know about it as he's reserving tables.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 18 November 2004 19:59 (nineteen years ago) link

firstworldman - didn't realise they were over 10mb. If you could upload them that'd be cool. Understand if not though.

The Nathan Fake 12" does seem hard to get hold of. http://www.abbeydiscs.com of Dublin claim to have it in stock. Ronan says they're reliable but I'm too broke at the moment, so feel free to get in there before me if it's their last copy.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 18 November 2004 19:59 (nineteen years ago) link

And now I too can thank Mr. Alba the Kind. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 18 November 2004 20:04 (nineteen years ago) link

i'd still like nathan fake mp3s if they are circulating still... i'll upload those files too, alba. i'll put em up for about 20 minutes only... are you on a fast enough connection for that?

firstworldman (firstworldman), Thursday, 18 November 2004 20:11 (nineteen years ago) link

Sure.

I'll send you the Icelandic Nathan Fake mix. You really need the Holden mix too, but it's long and my copy is high bitrate and thus 21MB or so. Can you manage that? I'm not sure I can actually, but I'll try from my other email account if you like.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 18 November 2004 20:17 (nineteen years ago) link

(oh right - yours is gmail too. that means nothing over 10mb. Might have to just be the non-dancy Icelandic one then)

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 18 November 2004 20:19 (nineteen years ago) link

3d@jginvesting.com might be able to handle that...
and i'll let you know when those tracks have uploaded... trying not to slow everyone else at the office down.

firstworldman (firstworldman), Thursday, 18 November 2004 20:21 (nineteen years ago) link

"who still needs happiness remixes? and i can send the ada if you still need it... will be back in 10 minutes, just reply."

Me me!

bulbs (bulbs), Thursday, 18 November 2004 21:15 (nineteen years ago) link

Thanks for that. If I can figure out a way of using this Fugu FTP client I'll upload the Holden mix of 'The Sky Was Pink' somewhere.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 18 November 2004 21:19 (nineteen years ago) link

anybody still dl'ing these?

firstworldman (firstworldman), Thursday, 18 November 2004 21:20 (nineteen years ago) link

Nope.

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 18 November 2004 21:26 (nineteen years ago) link

OK - forget weird Fugu. I've started a 30 day trial of CuteFTP - some things on their way for a limited period.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 18 November 2004 21:27 (nineteen years ago) link

lemin (lemin), Thursday, 18 November 2004 21:37 (nineteen years ago) link

Right - it's on its way to you two, then that's it for LCD forwarding for me - I'm starting to feel guilty.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 18 November 2004 21:38 (nineteen years ago) link

haha... well... i don't think they'll have any problems making a buck with this thing... i'll probably buy a copy or two, at least. thanks.

firstworldman (firstworldman), Thursday, 18 November 2004 21:40 (nineteen years ago) link

That Michael Mayer mix is some good stuff.

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 18 November 2004 21:55 (nineteen years ago) link

OK - for anyone who wants the James Holden Mix of Nathan Fake's 'The Sky Was pink', it's here for a while.

I've also put up Naum Gabo's Red Cones ripped roughly from James Murphy's Colette No. 5 mix, just cause I still love it and it's impossible to get.

Once they're gone, they're gone. Sorry.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 18 November 2004 21:56 (nineteen years ago) link

I could take anything interesting and reciprocate with something interesting.
Hip hop and obscurities are preferential; i'm weak on hipster/indie of all types.
Include a note delineating your tastes and get a treat from the Tofu library.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Thursday, 18 November 2004 21:59 (nineteen years ago) link

I put up hot track of Rebirth Brass Band w/Soulja Slim:

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 18 November 2004 22:00 (nineteen years ago) link

Hmmm, looks like you have to copy and paste whole line.

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 18 November 2004 22:01 (nineteen years ago) link

tofu, anything in particular you're looking for?

firstworldman (firstworldman), Thursday, 18 November 2004 22:04 (nineteen years ago) link

That doesn't work very well, does it. Can anyone save that Rebirth mp3?

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 18 November 2004 22:12 (nineteen years ago) link

yeah - it's OK for me Jordan, despite that weird bracket.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 18 November 2004 22:14 (nineteen years ago) link

Oh goody.

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 18 November 2004 22:15 (nineteen years ago) link

Thanks for the Gimix, Tofu! Nice!

Hey moderators - maybe it's time to lock this thread and start "The thread for requesting and offering MP3s Part II"? This one's getting to be a bit of a beast...

alternatively, siestas, just go to settings and change yours so it only loads the last 50, 100 or whatever of the thread (you can override this on any given thread).

i've uploaded the session the magic numbers did for steve lamacq. they were live version of forever lost, don't give up the fight and love is a game.
it's on my own webspace, so I'll leave it up for a couple of days, then delete it..
