Bobb recently returned to the stage after a 10+ year absence. Last month (May 3) he & I were part of "The Prefab Messiahs with Bobb Trimble" at the Wormtown 30th Anniversary Bash in Worcester MA.

There will likely be some new Bobb bookings this fall (New England & NY), after the band learns some more of his material. check his myspace (and subscribe to the blog there): www.myspace.com/bobbtrimble

he also has a facebook music page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Bobb-Trimble/8625507226

i may forget to check back here, so write me at oztofer #at# yahoo #dot# com with questions or to get on his mailing list

Update: a feature article I wrote on Bobb has just been posted to Terrascope Online (UK), the nice people who bring us the Terrastock festivals.

Complaints complaints.

Anyway, next up -- arena tour!

hey, jex thoth's cover of "when the raven calls" came out on their s/t album. it's probably the high point of the album, actually.

they (Jex Thoth) have asked Bobb to sing the song with them at the CMJ fest (Oct.'08, NYC). he says he'd like to do it.

pretty soon, we'll be trying to book some fall dates in the Northeast (between New England and DC). he says he wants to call his new group Flying Spiders. we'll see if the band talks him out of it.

two years pass...

Found this gem buried in the back of an Ariel Pink mix and have been addicted ever since. This has to be the most beautifully crafted song I've ever heard. Thanks!

these reissues are still holding up really well, some of my faves of the decade.

Heard the reissue? It's definitely his most raucous/garagey of the three.

revive: I found a 7" at the Goodwill yesterday. 2 tracks from the Harvest of Dreams LP. Circa 1981. Not perfect condition but quite beautiful. I'd love to know the history of this release. No record label indicated, just the catalog # BCT8458. It cost 52 cents!

wow that is quite a score

assuming it's not the Mexican Summer reissue, there are three known copies and it goes for around $200-300

damn! nice find.

kurt schwitterz, Thursday, 12 November 2015 18:47 (eight years ago) link

No, it's not the Mexican Summer release. It's the original of this:

It's this http://www.discogs.com/Bobb-And-The-Kidds-Take-Me-Home-Vienna/release/7717122.html

I just added it to Discogs.

kwhitehead, Thursday, 12 November 2015 19:15 (eight years ago) link

Damn, that URL didn't work. Sorry. It's the original version of this:
http://www.discogs.com/Bobb-And-The-Kidds-Take-Me-Home-Vienna/release/3727249.html

Hope it works.

Thanks so much for those links. I think this is the record mentioned. It's beat up though. Gotta give it some attention.

Whenever you put on "Premonitions," it's like dang, it's Blood on the Tracks.
