I gave a hefty number of points (#3) to "Wings" too. Sounds like it might be a contender. "Rowche" and "Voxish" brings me to 12/20 of my ballot making it already. I might be Mr Consensus Picks to an even greater extent than usual.

it's amazing. as said upthread I'm really regretting leaving Mexico Wax Solvent off my rushed ballot - it'd probably be in the top 15. but yeah the whole album is probably the loosest, rangiest, Krautiest thing they've done other than PBL, and it has no real weak spots. plus Weather Report 2 is just utterly beautiful

unless the aforementioned lay of the land places - i don't think it will - that means no bulbs is the only wonderful and frightening track to place. i have a disliking for no bulbs, mostly thanks to its position at the end of the cd. coming after the lovely disney's dream debased it's quite jarring ... and then draaaaags on.

Well, no bulbs is a bonus track. DDD should be the last track.

yeah i know it was tacked on the end but i think for most people the cd tracklistings for the beggars albums *are* the albums. i can enjoy no bulbs out of that context.

nah, i always think of no bulbs as being a call for escape route track. 3 versions! two for the pricea! w slang king and draygo!

FWIW, No Bulbs was on the original US vinyl of W&F. I always thought it made a good opening to side 2 (which is where it was when I first heard it). Bummed that Bug Day didn't make the cut.

It's a bit sad. I can imagine happily including almost any of these W&FTOTF-and-associated tracks in a top thirty ("Oh! Brother" too). That old 16-track CD issue is surely amongst my most played discs. As it is I only squeezed "Disney" in.

yeah, i placed it second on my albums ballot. it's the album that took me the longest to get into though. i had the cassette originally, and all those tracks were just *too much* to take in.

i'd forgotten the love for no bulbs.

so nice that every track from that album got a vote there. I was the lone vote there for "Stephen Song", which just barely missed my ballot here (yet I put "No Bulbs" on this time, go figure).

and like dlp the US PVC LP version of this is what I fell in love with initially, the cassette came later.

Was also listening to this one earlier. Introduced my wife to it and Garden in excited anticipation. She declared that she was starting to think that 'The Fall are geniuses'. Where Garden is paranoid incantation, this is declamatory steamroller.
