(There was another Ted Williams who played in the minors through the '90s--couldn't find an image.)

This shit-eating dude is my current Secretary of State

http://securestates.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/martin.jpg

He has the same name as this guy.

http://www.celebritytalent.net/sampletalent/photos/sm/15049800.jpg

You say, well, what does this have to do with musicians?

And I'll point out the previous Secretary of State was this guy

http://hotspringsdaily.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Arkansas_Secretary_of_State_Charlie_Daniels-200x300.jpg

who shares the same name with this person.

I'm convinced that voters are turning their levers based on pretty much name recognition alone.

Shameful, dorky admission: First time I saw that 12 Years a Slave was directed by Steve McQueen I thought it was the Bullitt guy coming out of retirement.

That's been tripping me up as well. I keep looking for an extra 'e' in there or something, like it's one of those Joy Orbison names.

I'm much worse because I thought so when both Hunger and Shame came out (I didn't really know much about the films, just heard about them in passing and thought "Oh, that's interesting, he didn't strike me as the kind of guy to direct arty films.") I thought it was a late career reinvention, like Steve Martin as novelist. Then when this came out I was like, "Wow, that's REALLY a departure."

You wouldn't believe the number of schoolmates I had who thought that Pete Shelley Out Of The Buzzcocks was the same Pete Shelley who did "Love Me Love My Dog."
