Heh when I read the DJ Quik thing I mixed it up w/ MC Ren's Kizz My Black Azz, which feel like may have been too filthy for a place like Target to sell.

Serious <3 to JC. Hopefully he gets picked up as a good benchvet for a good team. Not looking forward to the comment-section-level grossness that will be yelled at him, but honestly think it's the kind of growing pain that goes along w/ stuff like this. For every dumb drunk dude yelling abhorrent stuff at JC, there will hopefully be a ton of other people in that section who'll let the yeller know that it's totally unacceptable. Very happy to see basically 100% support from anyone notable bothering to comment on it.

Ha guess 99% support, hadn't read that Broussard said that / totally forgot that there'll be a few Xian dudes who are gonna be fucks about this.

i look forward to the hopefully inevitable pee wee reese/jackie robinson moment in the face of that shit.

jc story is absolutely amazing. So proud of him and the league and mostly everyone excepting Chris Broussard and his dying ilk.

Clay, Monday, 29 April 2013 21:55 (eleven years ago) link

i must admit i feel like this would be a little cooler w an actual nba player

lag∞n, Monday, 29 April 2013 21:57 (eleven years ago) link

i think there's a pretty decent shot he catches on somewhere next year if he's healthy

J0rdan S., Monday, 29 April 2013 21:58 (eleven years ago) link

Dunno, think it was really heroic of Broussard to finally come out as a bigot, takes a lot of courage.

It did occur to me, like, what if nobody signs him in the offseason and this just fades away. That'd be a sad reaction.

Clay, Monday, 29 April 2013 21:59 (eleven years ago) link

durant tweeted in support. i personally think it would be pretty lame of lebron not to break his playoff twitter boycott but i'm sure he'll be asked about it

tweeting is the only acceptable form of affirmation imho

chi and bkn still look tired from the triple overtime- noah clanged a jumper and four nets watched it bounce right between them to an unmoving boozer

Durant dribbled the ball 377 times in Game 3, about 240 more dribbles than he averaged per game for the season, according to data provided exclusively to Grantland from the SportVU camera system installed in 15 NBA arenas, including in both Houston and Oklahoma City. That number is between 50 and 100 fewer dribbles than the most dribbly point guards — Tony Parker, Westbrook, Mike Conley, Damian Lillard, et al. — averaged in recorded games, but it’s in the same neighborhood as the per-game averages for some point guards who don’t pound the ball quite as much (Kyrie Irving, Ricky Rubio, Ty Lawson, and others), per the SportVU data. Durant touched the ball 111 times in Game 3, almost double his season average, and a number that would've led the entire league, per the camera data.

Kinda awkward reading some NBA Xian twitters re: Collins coming out. A guy like Jared Dudley -- who seems like a nice dude? -- spent about 30 tweets kinda defending Broussard / talking about the whole situation from an Xian pov. Just a weird dissonance between the civil tone/"we're prolly all sinners somehow" vs. the actual message being delivered.

you don't know how to stop pick n rolls (CompuPost), Tuesday, 30 April 2013 01:19 (eleven years ago) link

Broussard, forgetting he is a wretched sinner who stinks in God's nostrils like a dog that has been rolling its own filth, eagerly casts the first stone at the 'harlot' and hits Christ, who defends her, in the forehead. Xtian humility is a dead letter in the USA.
