I took an anatomy course in high school (which was pretty terribly taught) and the only thing I remember is the day we looked at slides of people with conditions like that. I think the professor was literally like "hey I suck at teaching, my students don't care, and the school hasn't even ordered enough textbooks...EVERYBODY LOOK AT THESE GIANT BALLS!"

That's either a work of fiction or somebody's just made himself an accessory to a felony. Don't like the "journalist" either way.

Looking forward to the teen coming-of-age comic featuring a bunch of circles and a square that slowly enters the frame.

"[Physicist Brian Cox] thinks it’s 'differential friction,'" Price told The Daily Mail, referring to the process by which two surfaces — in this case the statue's stone and the glass shelf, "cause a subtle vibration which is making the statuette turn." Cox believes foot traffic or vibrations from the street outside are causing the mysterious movement, but Price refutes that theory. "It has been on those surfaces since we have had it and it has never moved before," he said.

Neetzan Zimmerman is confused about what the word "refutes" means.

Caretaker Campbell Scott thinks its the mummy spirit
Physicist thinks it might be differential friction
ILXor Sunny Successor believes the night watchman is fucking with their heads

It only moves in the day, though, and they have time-lapse footage of it. It's differential friction.

emil.y, Monday, 24 June 2013 16:47 (ten years ago) link

yeah for sure. The fact that it never happened before doesn't really "refute" that theory, because any number of subtle things could have changed that would affect the vibrations.

i don't even have an internet (Hurting 2), Monday, 24 June 2013 16:48 (ten years ago) link

in the movie 'singles,' architect steve dunn, played by campbell scott, in a voiceover monologue, discusses the breakdown of his relationship with linda powell (kyra sedgwick) using the analogy of "differential friction." FAST FORWARD TO NOW. night watchman campbell scott blames angry mummy spirits while physicist STEVEN DUNN says "differential fiction." unfuckingbelievable!
